The recent trend in Kollywood, there are only lot of remakes rule the roost. 'Friends' ,'Gilli', 'Pithamagan', 'Kasi', 'Sundara Travels', '4 students', 'Meesai Madavan', 'Soundparty'.'Shock' etc., the list may get extended
Remakes never make a producer suffer. They do make profits. In fact 'Vijay' is surviving in the industry only because of 'Remakes'. Cine Heros don't hear stories as in early days. They just see Telugu, Malayalam, CDs of new pictures.
Now a days, there is a real fight is going on in between directors. Presently a Telugu film is successfully running in Andhra. To get the rights of the film, there is a big tussle at various levels of Tamil film field.
In Telugu, Gunasekar directed film 'Okkadu' became 'Gilli'. Now the same unit has made a film 'Arjun'; which is running very well, breaking all the old records.
While Actors fight for roles of Arjun, Directors like Dharani, and Hari are looking whether they can get the rights of 'Arjun'. They have gone and seen the set of 'Thotta Dharani' of Madurai temple made at a few crores.
Till date, who is going to get the right of Arjun is an unanswered question! |
