just create a .bat file with file path name to the corresponding .exe / .com file in C:\windows directory. you can execute just the filename from run eg: in c:\windows\ directory create a yah.bat file with 2 lines like this: c:\program files\Yahoo!\Messenger\YPager.exe exit >> save from run command just "yah" will popup a DOS window and executes. >> Techies help anite naaagu legusudhi emito pedha techie laaga :D

chanti mama....figured it....all you got to do is to place it in one of these folders (ordered list) The current working directory The Windows directory (no subdirectories are earched) The Windows\System32 directory Directories listed in the PATH environment variable The App Paths registry key thanks anyway |

I remember the binary/exe should be built to invoke it at command prompt... so most of them may not work.... Also check the paths of the exe which u are running from command prompt Edava jeevitham... |

does anyone know how to customize the "Run" command on windows. Like if you type "winword" in the Run dialogue box, the MS Word program starts. Now what I want is to start some other program, like say, Yahoo Messenger, if I type in my own string, say "ymsgr" in the Run dialogue box. Any suggestions/ideas? |
