Dasari had to mothball that project as the idea did not go well with the Vysya community. Influentential people of this caste feared that any haphazard characterization of Subbi Setty's role would be of poor taste to their community at large!

Long back Vani Vishwanath was signed to play the lead role of chintamani. But there was opposition and the movie was stalled.

I dont know who was supposed to direct that film though.
