Not that there is no silver lining in the industry. Prabhas's Varsham, Balakrishna's Laxmi Narasimha,Venkatesh's Malleswari, Nagarjuna's Nenunnanu and Allu Arjun's Arya did work well for distributors. The hitch? "If we lose money in a film,we try to recover that amount in the star's next film," says Asian Films distributor Suneel. "So,we have to run behind them again for distribution rights. It is a cycle." It doesn't help that the losses for each film can be as much as Rs 8 to 10 crore across the state.
