based on form you got to frop a few players, mana bench strength is laughable.
raidu definite gaa is a class act, good bat, decent bowler and a fantastic fielder.
test cricket is not a chil'd game so aadini careful gaa hone cheyaali, prastutam unna form meeda aaadini evari place lonu teesukovadam kashtam
but he should be there in the 15, and be played as and when somebody is not performing or injured.
sachin, lax, dravid, gangs, sehwag veella places aithe confiemed, gangs cant be dropped since he is the captain, eede weakest link.
6th bat position is up for grabs.
yuvi/raidu/chopra/gautam gambhir.
ofcourse they wont consider raidu and gambhir, will go with yuvi for now, but if sehwag and yuv fail, raidu should be in |

Waugh at this peak was the best (and i believe best ever) BUt after he got dropped from ODI i think he became less aggressive. idi matram nijam. ponting is more aggressive compared to the waugh (towards the end).

Mee mohalu eedcha india ki talent ledu ani evaru annaru. undoubtedly india is the best when it comes to batting line-up in the ENTIRE WORLD but we dont have team spirit PERIOD. lekapote 1999 WC lo 4 super star batsmen, 2 world class bowlers vundi how come we could not make it to even semi-finals ? last WC ki we did well...

Ponting had a bad serious during 2001 accepted however dont forget the 2003 WC final when he smashed the day-light out of harbhajan and company. one match and one series cannot be used to rate a player.

few months back in an interview steeve(waugh) told it was 100% luck to get sachin in 2001 MUMBAI test in II innings, who knows if sachin would have been there ( sachin and dravid already played more than 40 overs on that day) that test might be the kolkatta test. we can say aussies also won the match with luck.

I too agree with oaklala, this series is ot going to be a cakwalk by anymeans to aussies, their batsmen will suffer at the hands of our bowlers and their bowlers at the hands of laxman, laxman has scored only one 280 but has scoredon inumerable occassions against aussies both at home and abroad. i am sure he is more determined to do well this time around than on the last series.
Aussies, don't underestimate our team thinking that you could easily roll over the guys who are low on confidence, beware they are just down and not out yet.
I hope the right players will be picked to do the right job and hope the likes of YV rao are given a boost this time.

maava ..AUS is not a team that can be pounded with a single man show..India needs team effort and we are lacking that instinct as of now..
sachin for sure gone case and am sure his injury will make him avoid playing some shots ...
dada gone case...never performed well ..
only hope is laxman and dravid..and nowadays laxman is a gone case..

I don't understand ur logic here. Can u please justify ur statement? Remember, we r not playing in Australia. Moreover India was able to stop australia in australia with 1-1 margin. How can u expect a whitewash here? Ponting was literally clueless while playing Harbhajan last time(in India). He was completely listless and was groping for the ball all the time.

Seems like everything is luck for u when India wins and talent when australia does. In the same vein i can say Hayden was lucky throughout the entire last series(in India) and he shudn't expect that luck to continue this time.

india was lucky during 2001 series...laxman aa match lo kottadam TIME. mana time bagunnapudu evaru apaleru and thats what happened. last test match at chennai almost india lost it but then luck favored them. BUT LUCK WILL NOT FAVOR ALL THE TIME. dont expect laxman or harbhajan to play like that.
If Ricky was playing this series, i would have given the chance of another whitewash for india but luckily ponting is out. as a captain he is miles miles and miles ahead of joker ganguly. with gilchrist i am still predicting an even series BUT i sincerely wish that ponting comes back as a captain. |

Weak link in the australian batting lies in how well their batsman tackle Kumble and Bajju on spin tracks (esp chennai and mumbai). I can't imagine Clarke and Gilchrist scoring centuries on a spin track.
For India, strength lies in batting first and scoring big (to put some pressure on aussies). India has to bank bigtime on Sachin, Dravid and Laxman. If the big three get going then India is not going to loose the series (this is not a negative mindset, just a fact).
On paper Aussies might look stronger than Indians. But on Indian (spin doctored) tracks, our team seems to have a slight advantage. Letz hope that Sachin will rise to the occasion and will re-deliver his 1998/australian-tour/madras-match form. |

Now lets look at the venues for this seris.
1) Three day match against board presidents xi AT HYDERABAD..
This is to be played at the new stadium coming at uppal. Nobody knows how its going to play.
2) 1st Test, Bangalore
Conducive to pace for the first two days and then will take spin. However if you can bend ur back then can get wickets on this as well on all the five days as Michael Kasprowiz showed us in 1998 series when he got 6 indian wickets in the second innings.
2) 2nd Test, Chennai
Totally favours spin bowling. But still Jason gillespie was able to extract pace on this wicket in 2001 .. ( Just look into the tendulkars dissmisal in the second innings.. surprised him with pace ) .
3) 3rd Test, Nagpur
This is a dead pitch and will be a high scoring one and can end in a draw.
4) 4th Test, Mumbai
Everybody will have something on this pitch. will play true for 5 days. Australia won the 2001 first test within 3 days.

One more advantage for the aussies is that, they are coming at a time when the climate is cool and not hot.
1) In 1998 they came around April to May and that time of the year is the hottest in india.
2) Again in 2001 they came during March and April during which the climate is very hot.
This time though they are coming in october and the climate is going to be much cool that means fast bowlers will be more fit and can bowl for much longer periods.
Second thing is the bowl will move around during the early hours and later hours of the day.

But australia looks to be the tougher side with the depth in batting as well as bowling..
Just have a look at this line up. Australia can now afford to go in with 4 specialist fast bowlers and one quality spinner. Also Michael Clarke is not behind in spin bowling. He is a very good spinner of the bowl along with darren lehman.
In batting they can bat upto Number 9.

Eti anukunnara Ten days to go for the first test between india and australia at bangalore on october 6 ..
This is undoubtedly going to be the series of the year so far..
