i did a google search and found this in a DB: Refer to the following article found on www.evidyarthi.com Common Jargon Used in the University Procedures What is GPA that US universities request for in the application forms? GPA expands to Grade Point Average and it is the method by which US universities evaluate the performance of their students in the examinations. The range of GPA is from 0 to 4. It is not possible to convert your percentage score into GPA, as they are not linearly related. For example, a percentage of 75 cannot be said to be equivalent to 3 out of 4. Therefore, wherever you are asked to state your GPA, you should only enter your percentage score, adding the percentage sign (%) of the number (Put an asterisk (*) near the number and highlight it at the bottom of the application that *GPA system is not followed in our university. (A rough equivalence of the percentage score multiplied by the GPA can be got as 4x x/85. For example, if your percentage score is 75, it is roughly equivalent to 4 x 75/85 =3000/85 = 3.53). I hope this is helpful.

Hello everyone: In India generally when we graduate we get percentage like 60%, 70% and 80%. How do we convert this to GPA? The graduate schools (in United States) are asking how much GPA do you have? Is there any formula to convert? 60% marks will convert to what GPA? I appreciate if anyone could help. Thank you. |
