If all that we hear in Dekho Na is Baba's tune, then we r missing the point of rework on that song. Musicians usually 'rework' or 'remix' or 'cover' a song (somebody else's or their own)either to augment the original song's feeling or evoke some other emotion. I wud have been disappointed if the Baba's song made a reappearance in exactly the same way but with Hindi lyrics, but when the new song is variegated to a considerable extent, then to complain is to pay a deaf ear.
From the accompaniment to the way the tune is treated, there are differences between the two songs, and those differences differentiate the kinds of responses u feel when u listen them. While one is a easygoing, the other seems to be more of a reflecting and pondering arrangement, with those gaps in tune and mellow subdued synth lines and sounds. And to me, the new arragement is a lot more adventurous and off beat.
Regarding ARR's live shows, I was never satisified with his shows completely. The anticipation, unexpectedness and those 'spur of the moments' usually associated with a live show seem to be missing. Granted, his music is more studio oriented and is hard to replicate on stage, but if I go to a live show I wud want to listen to something else.
He has all those synth modules and controllers around him, why doesnt he trigger off a loop different than what i hear on the CD? Or build or tweak a sound on stage? That wud add to my experience. He is adventurous and risk taking in his studio offerings, and I wud love that even more on a live stage. He has some of the best musicians in India at his disposal constantly, and they are all seasoned live musicians too. And I remember an interview with Keith Peters where he was talking about the amount of rehearsal they put into a show. So why not take some risks on the stage too, insted of sticking to the normal? Or is that what a general crowd wants? Neways, his latest live shows were more impressive than his earlier ones though. |

babai, I never supported that and I also felt cheated. so what ? should I start hating ARR ? he's given us much more joy than this minmor irritation.

We dont care for all the mistakes on live program. Everybody knows that recording a song in studio is different to Live program. We go to many orchestra songs where they never match the original but still we enjoy because we know they are singing in front live. If they lip sync it is as good as listening. |

I didnt tell I stopped admiring his talent. But each time I take a look at his album, he disappoints me with a rehash songs. What disappoints me all these small things which he would have avoided.
I told in my other posts that my picks are Yeh tara and Aahistaa,,,

Anta hype taruvata I found a rehashed song in the album.. I dont care of Anumalik or somebody. All matters is that ARR songs didnt live upto the hype.. Only 2 songs are good in that album for me..
As a matter of fact as I told before also, I dont blindly like all ARR songs as you guys do..
ARR ante naaku eppudu manchi abhiprayama poyindante he cheated everybody in live programs by lip synching.. Read also SPB's views on this

SPB: Actually, it is a deceit, you know. Why do people come to see a live performance? There is an adjective 'live' there. You see, they all very well know that you can't bring all the 30 pieces of instruments on stage, unless it happens to be a bigger music director. And they know that the people are bound to make mistakes and they don't mind it. They want to see the singer singing in flesh and blood and see how he interacts with the musicians on the stage. Those things make a big difference to the live audience. People coming with tracks already made and ... That I feel very bad about. Playing a record and lip-syncing it.. absolutely bad. I will never encourage that.
