Your Proof 3=2 defies the rule of BODMAS.BODMAS is the secret code which enables us to know exactly the right sequence of doing things mathematically. In particular electronic calculators have to use a rule (known in computing circles as an algorithm) to know which answer to calculate when given a string of numbers to add, subtract, multiply, divide etc.

line 4 is possible only when a and b exist independently with diff values.
incase a=b then we get the equation as 2a=0
hence a =0 is the answer.
so the logic is not mathematically correct but its good enough to confuse

if taking square root on both sides fails the LOGIC , then squaring on both sides also should FAIL
in 1=2 example , you squared on both sides

we have seen enough of these, but this is totally different and no tricks. All other this type of proofs start with assuming a = b blah blah..
why a = b ?
No answer.
There itself those proofs are inconvincing..but see this one.
-6 = -6
9-15 = 4-10
adding 25/4 to both sides:
9-15+25/4 = 4-10+25/4
Changing the order
9+25/4-15 = 4+25/4-10
(this is just like a2 + b2 - 2 a b = (a-b)2)
Here a = 3, b=5/2 for L.H.S
and
a =2, b=5/2 for R.H.S,
so it can be expressed as follows
(3-5/2)(3-5/2) = (2-5/2)(2-5/2)
taking positive square root on both sides:
3 - 5/2 = 2 - 5/2
3 = 2
