US Consulate in Chennai has introduced a new Visa Process effective 03rd Oct, 2005. As per their directive, this new process should facilitate processing improvements & prevention of fraudulent application processing. Given below is the snapshot on the changes. We recommend that you cascade this information to all your team members & also to your Onsite (US) based employees for their Visa re-stamping process.
New US Visa Stamping Process - Effective 03 October, 2005:
- The new visa processing system incorporates the pre-payment of the non-refundable / non-transferable Visa Application processing fee & is expected to decrease the timelines in obtaining visa interview dates, by encouraging only those applicants who will actually appear for an interview to make an appointment.
- To facilitate this program , the US embassy has extended its existing relationship with Bank of America which would collect the processing fee at a number of locations through its partner bank - HDFC Bank and VFS (US Consulate Approved Visa Service Provider).
Procedure for the existing TTS Web appointment holders:
Who already have appointments scheduled through T.T. Services(TTS) will not be impacted by the change. All existing appointments taken till September 30 will be honored. The visa application fees for appointments made with TTS should still be paid through a bank draft , as currently practiced.
The TTS web appointment holders will be asked to reconfirm their appointments through mailers which would be sent directly by them. Pl confirm your dates when you receive such mailers. |
