I agree with you considering the current situation.
But, AOl is limited to US and ofcourse not growing.
Probably, they are looking at future and broader picture. Now-a-days, it has become tough to fight alone. Alliance is the big word now a days |

I guess this alliance could be due to various reasons.
Consider the fact that google also entered the IM market recently and google is in such a situation to threaten anybody.

Look at there AD in TV vallaki AOL antena Internet, AOL antena oka Mail
The Ad is very mischevious
MSN + YAHOO combined inka 48 million users
