ya.. nelson was expected to go by the end of the season anyway.. but silas' firing was a surprise... i think there will be a lot of changes in cleveland this summer...
looks like the laker season is over... and also not much hope for KG and the wolves...

Shaq quote of the week: After the Heat beat the Knicks on Dwyane Wade's buzzer-beating jumper, Shaq compared playing with Wade to teaming with a young Penny Hardaway and then Kobe Bryant. "The difference between those three is the Godfather trilogy," said Shaq. "One is Fredo, who was never ready for me to hand it over to him. One is Sonny, who will do whatever it takes to be the man. And one is Michael, who if you watch the trilogy, the Godfather hands it over to Michael. So I have no problem handing it over to Dwyane." As usual, Shaq makes a valid and colorful point, though in fairness one only needs to watch the first Godfather to see Michael take over. (And there's no good reason to watch Godfather III.) Still, likening Kobe to the ill-tempered and domineering Sonny is a great pop-culture reference, while Hardaway must be smarting from being likened to the slow-witted Fredo.

nag mama leave the kobe topic.. there are so many other interesting things going on right now in the nba.. for me it has come down to choosing between fav team and fav player (lakers vs. KG)... its a tough choice.. i hope one of them beats denver to the 8th spot... KG vs Tim, Kobe vs. Tim, Manu is a much interesting matchup than Nuggets vs. Spurs.... |

now that people had enough kobe bashing in the "shaq-less lakers" thread.. we can get back to the rest of the nba :p
KG and the wolves won yest in dallas and are tied in the 9th spot with lakers.. just half game behind denver... i think they'll make it somehow... first round could be KG Vs. Duncan...
in the east Philly is just half game behind orlando and is in the 9th spot.. indiana is in 7th spot but jermaine is out for the season.. so probly they'll slip out of the playoffs... 1st round could be AI and C-Webb vs Shaq and Wade.... |

cleveland made a nice and quiet pickup in jiri welsh.. he'll help them and i think they'll make some noise in the playoffs... cant wait to see what more lebron will do in his first playoffs |

i think the c-webb deal is good for philly... he is a very good player as long as he is not the number one option... with AI on board for all the late game heroics they shld be fun to watch... AI is tearing up the league this season.. 60 point game, 2 50 point games.. leading the league in scoring and 3rd in assists... he's a mvp candidate |

Lack of Motivation is the falling cause for Webber. 2 years back (or 3) he almost helped Kings to lift the West conf title. Hez brilliant and lazy. Also i heard that hez still very much addictive to drugs. Anyway Kings r going to miss him for sure and AI will have the much needed support now. Letz see how the combo of AI and Webber will fare. |

Two deals by the Sixers in two days - Same thing happened when Larry Hugesh and Jerry Stackhouse were sent of out of Philly 6 years ago - much to the disdain of Allen Iverson.
But now, letting Big Dog go is not a bad move - thought I really doubt the contributive authenticity of C Webb. I think C Webb is a gifted yet totaaly unmotivated player at any level.
Stepping up when there is a need is a characteristic of great players and AI - has made a life doing that. C Webb would pull dowm the morale - if anything.

i think the pacers are still dangerous... they'll miss artest obviously but if the rest of the team is healthy they shld be OK.. still not the favs to beat detroit or miami...
if shaq's injury is not serious the pistons will have their hands full... its not like last year when they beat him and the lakers.. the referees are being very strict on perimeter defense... they wont be able to defend as aggressively as they did last year...

in east no one is really playing great. thx to the suspensions indiana pacers are almost out!!! miami without shaq is gone case. nets are completely out of sync this season. even carter's entry is not helping much. detroit may have chances again it appears |
