lakers have too many small forwards.. odom, butler, luke walton, devean george.. they shld turn two of them (by trades) into a decent power forward... |

cleveland needs to sign a good outside shooter... redd shld be their first target coz he's young but he wants to stay the first option on a bad team like the bucks i guess.. at least thats what his statements say... cleveland will give a max contract to him or do a sign and trade with the bucks...
if not they shld go after joe johnson of phoenix... they cld get him for around 10m i guess.. great shooter.. very versatile.. can handle the ball..
he is a better and cheaper bet than ray allen.. ray turns 30 this year.. signing him to a 5-6 year max deal wld be stupid...
they will still have some money left (they have 22 mil cap space).. they shld NOT resign Ilgauskus.. they shld spend that money on a defensive-minded younger center like sam dalambert, stro swift (can play center in the east), tyson chandler... Ilgauskus is a good offensive center but if they sign a good player like redd/joe/ray then there wont be enough shots to go around.. they need a good rebounding/blocking center...

If Phil is going to come back then they should sign Ray Allen and they will be back in the top slot again.
Odom is talented than Butler, but Butler plays well with out ball when compared to Odom.
Kobe will never give away the ball.
Nag maama i don't think Phil will come back to LA unless Jerry Buss promises roster changes, still i doubt whether he will come back and coach Kobe.
I think he will check Cleveland if they can sign Redd or Allen he will lean towards cleveland.
that becomes a title contender imm.
Hope Phil comes back to LA and they make some moves so that Team will become good like before.
This year it's so much pain for Lakers fans.I hope it won't be same next year. |

nbk mama.. buying out grant's contract will not give the lakers cap space... the contract will be calculated against the cap.. so basically they r stuck with him this year... after next season he'll be in the last year and the expiring contract will be handy... 2007 season they'll have lots of cap space to offer yao or amare but unless the suns and rockets mess up pretty bad i dont see either of them leaving....
true butler plays better with kobe than odom but odom is the better talent.. if only kobe agrees to play off the ball.. he can.. if he wants to...
coming to the draft.. first they shld choose the coach and then draft accdg to that philosophy...
if its phil and his triangle.. there's no point in getting getting a good point gaurd... there's not much role for the point gaurd in his system... |

But what about Brian Grant so they will have to pay him 30million in 2 seasons.

I agree with Buzz Kobe and Allen plays the same spot so they cann't play on the same team.
chucky Atkins doesn't play like a point gaurd he plays like a 2 gaurd.
I think Caron is better option at number 3 when compared to Odom.
He plays well with Kobe than Odom.
If i have the power i would trade Lamar for Jack Randolph or carlos Boozer.
They both are not happy with their current teams and they would happyily take Lamar for them.
That will some inside presence.
Nag maama ilgauskus cann't play along side lebron he won't be able to play with Kobe also.
If they get good number 4 Mihm is ok for number 5.
Since they have a lottery pick this year they should go for a good young point gaurd.
Also they may try trading Chucky atkins for Sam Cassell(This is taking a chance), if he is injured again and cann't play then that young point gaurd will get chance to play.
I hope they won't make any more blunders and make the team like Knicks taking contracts like Brian Grant.
If Jerry has money he should buy Brian Grant's contract that will give salary cap space. |

nag mama who else wld u have shooting.. kobe already takes too many shots... its better to have chucky shooting than briant grant, devean george etc.
btw.. lakers have a team option on vlade divac.. i think they'll let him go and clear up a roster spot... |

ray allen and kobe play the same position... ilgauskus is highly overrated and has a history of foot problems and is above 30...
they need a power forward... but to go after the decent available ones like stromile swift they dont have cap space...
they shld trade butler for a decent 4 and move lamar to his natural 3 position...
before all thsi they shld hire a good coach... maybe phil again.. maybe after a year break kobe and phil will gel better... blind hope maybe...
if they get phil and make lamar their primary ball handler they'll be very good.. chris mihm is a decent backup center.. chucky atkins is a decent backup point gaurd...
the lakers are set only at the 2 and 3 positions.... holes everywhere... but jerry buss will spend the money... in 2 years they shld be back.... |

Since jerry buss has deep pockets, i would go after ray allen and iglluskas and pair them with odom and bryant and the lakers are back |

I think they cann't do much even next year.
With Shaq trade they got Brian Grant who will earn 30 million next 2 years.
I don't know what the GM was thinking when he got this guy in Shaq's trade.
They will pay 30million to a guy who cann't run, who cann't jump, who cann't shoot and who cann't defend.
Just to play for 5-10min he will get that much money.
Then comes Vladi Divac he will get 5.9 million next year.
If they trade Odom team will be still worst than this year.
They cann't buy one good win after they lost Odom with that injury.
I think after 2-3 worst loosing season Jerry Buss will trade Kobe and sell the franchise.
