there is no cap room for KG or KB this summer. maybe next summer they'll have some. The Cavs have 22 mil in cap room. they can sign a very good shooting gaurd and center. i hope they don't re-sign ilgauskus. they need an athletic center that rebounds and blocks shots like tyson chandler. redd, joe johnson and ray allen should be their targets for the 2-gaurd spot. they also need a good point gaurd. eric snow is good as a backup. |

Allen Iverson ni evaru kapadaleru inka they got a very bad contract of Chris Webber, if Allen won't move out of Philly he cann't make playoffs next year.
Atleast for KB and KG future looks promosing with cap relief.
Allen is stuck with Old Webber.
This year he played his career year and out in first round.
Next year if he plays a bit less then out without making playoffs.
Lebron will rule if Cleveland signs that center and get Ray Allen or Michael Redd to the team. |

nandamuri mama too much shaq hostility? shaq and kobe were both wrong. kobe is paying right now. shaq gets a lot of love from the media coz i feel the media is anti-kobe. but he was wrong in a lot of things too. this summer lets see if he gets that $100 mn contract from the heat. the trade was about that $100 mn contract he was asking for. team chemistry etc. all is bullshit.
anyway these are my predictions for the 2nd round.
i dont think the heat will or should lose to the wizards. i see a sweep there.
i think detroit will beat indiana in 6 games. indiana has a lot of heart but detroit is a better team. it will be one ugly series to watch though. i personally hate the low scoring games. there shld be enough balance between offense and defense (like the spurs).
SA and seattle will not go more than 5 games. TD looks healthy. series over.
PHX and Dal. this will be the most exciting series in the 2nd round. Even though the mavericks are putting a lot of emphasis on defense I dont see anyone gaurding amare. also PHX is very underrated in defense. they are not the worst defending team in the league. they are at least average. i dont think we need to talk about offense. both are good. Phx a little better. PHX in 6. (brad mama, i know u r waiting to correct me :p) |

Yeah if u look at this season it looks like Shaq is the hero(competing for MVP) and Kobe is the villan. But it won't be the same in the coming seasons.May be this year it will be bad for Lakers, but next season looks good with lots of caproom if Mitch(Junk GM) won't take any more bad contracts. Even now the cap is below luxury tax limit, so they are fine now.If the palyers won't get injured like last year and get some good draft pics this year they may make playoffs.
But what is future for Shaq, if he plays the same way he played with NJ they will be blown out by Detroit and that's it.
Again next year he will demand larger contract from Miami and if they don't give he will come at 380pounds and that's it.
Otherthan Dwan Wade they don't have any future.
He says Jerry Buss is making losses because of his departure which might be true for a while but not too long.
Kobe should work hard this off season and make no mistakes like 2 season's back.
They have to trade that Chucky Atkins to change the team attitude this year and they can keep rest of the guys if they cann't get anything back.
They should try to sign Chandler if Chicago doesn't match then it will be a good choice. |

If Shaq thought he was not a good owner why the heck he stayed with Lakers for 8 years, he might have demanded a trade after 2-3 years.

One day after Lakers owner Jerry Buss said O'Neal found motivation for losing weight only after being traded by Los Angeles to Miami, the Heat's All-Star center took issue with the remark.
"I didn't need motivation," O'Neal said. "I needed a real owner. ... I needed a real owner like Micky Arison. You can quote me on it."
Buss also said he doesn't regret trading O'Neal to Miami.
"And I don't regret him losing money and his not making the playoffs," O'Neal said.
On Wednesday, Buss said O'Neal was not willing to get into shape when he played for the Lakers. O'Neal, who played at an estimated 370 pounds during his final season in Los Angeles, is down to about 325 in Miami.
"It seems that the motivation for him to lose weight was to trade him," Buss said Wednesday. "I suspect if I knew he was going to lose 60 pounds, I might have made a different decision." |

13. Indiana (voted off by Boston, 4-1)
As the old saying goes, "When Anthony Johnson is your point guard, that means Anthony Johnson is your point guard." Did Indiana have an inspiring season? Absolutely. Was the Reggie Miller Resurgence entertaining for everyone involved? No question about it. Is there anything more delighful than seeing Ron Artest dressed in a three-piece suit, cheering his teammates on and being injected with 30 CCs of Thorazine by the team doctor's every 30 minutes? You betcha.
But they are not beating a team like the Celtics when A.) Johnson and Dale Davis play crunch-time for them, B.) Jermaine O'Neal isn't totally healthy, and C.) they're still running plays in the final minute for Reggie Miller, who gave them a season-saving four-week stretch after the All-Star Break before wearing down in April (.397 shooting). Not only do they defer to Reggie too much when it matters, he couldn't guard me at this point (much less Ricky Davis or Paul Pierce). So it ends here for Reggie. Great career.
12. Sacramento (voted off by Seattle, 4-2)
I never understood the media race to bury the Sonics this season -- since Rashard Lewis was their most indispensable player (not Ray Allen), why was anyone surprised when they went into the tank without him this month? Even their fans are confused and wary. When I asked ESPN.com senior editor (and diehard Seattle fan) Kevin Jackson for his pick, KJ first said, "We're gonna lose," then amended that to, "actually, Peja's hurt, we might win," to "yeah, screw it, we have a good chance to win, and coming from a Seattle fan, that's as positive a response as you will ever get." Of course, this is the same guy who corrected me two days ago when I incorrectly thought Stanford's name from "Sex and the City" was "Sanford" in my "Fever Pitch" column. So maybe he was the wrong person to ask.
(Here's why the Sonics have reached "don't gamble on us from game to game under any circumstances" status: On any given night, they can shoot the lights out. For instance, when Minnesota had to win out for that eighth seed last weekend, the Sonics simply destroyed them: Lewis and Allen shot a combined 25-for-43 and Sprewell was making plans to take his yacht down to the Caymans midway through the third quarter. Beware of them at all times.) |

16. Memphis (voted off by Phoenix, 4-0)
We learned everything we needed to know about the Grizz when they needed one win for a playoff spot and lost to Dallas, Houston, Denver and San Antonio by a combined 60 points. The guy who should be kicking himself is Jerry West, who should have topped any possible offer for Vince Carter three months ago. Everyone knew Vince was dogging it and only needed a change of scenery, and everyone knew the Grizz needed a go-to guy desperately. So why wouldn't they roll the dice with Vince?
(I know I keep asking this every year, but what is Jerry West waiting for, exactly? Does he have some secret alliance with Kobe that we don't know about? Like, "If you push Shaq out of Los Angeles and destroy the Lakers beyond repair, I'll trade for you during the summer of 2005 and we'll win some titles in Memphis together?" That's the only way the last three years make sense.)
15. Houston (voted off by Dallas, 4-1)
Ever since Juwan Howard went down -- and the beginning of that sentence alone is enough to raise a red flag -- the Rockets have been playing without any power forwards who could even be considered "crappy." So here's my question: Who the hell is guarding Dirk Nowitzki in this series? Clarence Weatherspoon? Ryan Bowen? Vin Baker? Dikembe Mutombo? Scott Padgett? Yao? Roger Clemens? There's a good chance that Dirk could break MJ's scoring record for a five-game series, especially since we just named a German pope who will be rooting for him. And what happens when the Mavs play Nowitzki and the Completely & Totally Rejuvenated Keith Van Horn at the same time? Who does Yao plan on guarding?
(Note: I actually think the Mavs are going to KILL the Rockets, save for the one game when T-Mac drops in the neighborhood of 55 to 58 points on them.)
14. Philly (voted off by Detroit, 4-1)
Here's the funny thing: If C-Webb wasn't playing, I would have picked this series to go seven because of the Iverson Factor. Sadly, he's playing ... and there isn't a more lopsided matchup on the planet than "C-Webb on one leg versus the Wallace Brothers." Philly reader Angela McGuirk summed it up best:
"While I was watching the Sixers game last Thursday night against Miami, I noticed that Chris Webber was in the game with five fouls for an awfully long time. I turned to my husband and said, 'It's almost like "Survivor" or the "Real World/Road Rules Inferno," where other teams are trying to keep him in the game because he's such a detriment to the Sixers. He's our version of Karamo.' |

my west picks:
Phoenix - Memphis - Phx will have few problems but will win in 6 games
SA-Denver - SA will win even with Tim at 80% - SA in 5
Seattle - Sac - The Kings are beaten up if not this wld have been a great series... seattle in 6
Dallas - Houston - Bets series in the west. Tough to pick. Logic says the mavs will win this close series but gut says houston. 7 game series i think houston will win. |

basically worst season for me... fav team lakers not in, fav players KG and LeBron not in... sucks
anyway my picks for the east:
miami- nj... this is not easy as it look especially with shaq hurting.. if shaq's 100% (or at least 80%) then miami will win easily... if not it will be a dogfight
detroit - philly - i read an article in espn.. they had a valid point that the best player in the series is AI but the next 5 are from pistons.. its basically one great player against a very good team - detroit will win in 6 games
boston - indian - my pick is indiana in 6... boston doesnt defend at all and jermaine is back for indiana...
chicago - washington - this will be the toughest series in the east.. i think it will go to 7 games and washington will win... |
