oops this is correct post KS Rama Rao had invited the Press to cover this programme…giving away memento’s to some of the committee members and others who helped make the programme a success. Inevitably when the media asked questions, he went into a frenzy. He started off telling us not to ask any controversial questions. One question led to an arrogant reply and that led to a war of words between a fellow journalist and KS Rama Rao with latter calling him a rowdy. The producer apparently didn’t like the media portraying the film industry in bad light and the huge headlines irked him. Don’t ask anything, write what is given to you was his words. Self serving, self glorification, self preservation. This is what the industry is all about. Do some of us, in some perverse way, ask for it? Is it time for some of us to look where we are going and see what we are doing for ourselves? Do we want to be non questioning morons for ever? KS Rama Rao is ungenerous, unable to accord a fraction of that respect and dignity that he assumes is his birthright. He apologises and again makes a blunder. Maybe he should set up a newspaper of his own and air his views exclusively 24×7. He can keep all the advantages and their other shenanigans can be aired non-stop. For them we are byte hunters who salivate at every Press Conference. They have this barely concealed disdain for the press. KS is just a representative, there are many who treat film journalists like crap. This is not acceptable to me and I fail to see how it can be acceptable to any film journalist/media person? KSRR, please put an end to this and give a human being the respect he deserves. About the laati charge that was supposed to happen and you stopping the thought, thanks a bunch. You have been too generous. Take a break, meditate, do yoga and there is something called art of living too! Truth is my weapon |

ANother website's report: Producer and convener of Telugu Diamond Jubilee Celebrations again fights with the media. On Tuesday (Jan 30), he had heated argument with media men and irritated over bad press about the event. “Why did media put such a huge headlines in newspapers (read about Chiru/Mohanbabu episode)? Did Tsunami occur in our state or Andhra-Telangana did separate?,” he questioned. When journalists retorted that media don’t need K S Ramarao’s ‘expertise’ on how to put headlines, the verbal scuffle between him and journalists reached height. Then some of the producers stepped in to pacify the situation. It happened during the sidelines of the press meet of congratulating the committee members for making the event ‘successful’. When senior film journalist Prabhu mentioned why he didn’t give passes to websites (except one website), K S Ramarao became irritated. “Yes, I don’t like websites. They write all gossips and negative items,” he said. Then he termed the senior journalist’s behavior as ‘rowdy act’. With this ungentlemanly word, media men had heated argument with him. He then questioned the papers about their headings. He then also said if the government doesn’t give NTR award, they (film industry) are ready to take up on their own and implement it. To senior politician V Hanumantha Rao’s criticism that film industry didn’t mention former Chief Minister Chenna Reddy name during the celebrations, he said, “we did put up his statue at film chamber of commerce. Is it not enough?” Says sorry to EVV “It is my fault for not reaching the invitation to EVV and others. I sincerely say sorry to them,” he regretted. Here is what he said (Also read our comments to his argument) 1. I don’t like websites because they write gossips and negative items. (Our Comment: So he denied passes to the celebrations to websites except one website that he thinks is good and writes positive news. Our comment: Yes, writing false news is bad. Negative/criticizing a film/film personality is nothing wrong. So K S Ramarao becomes censoring authoritarian, huh?) 2. Media is acting as if they are superior power. But they are not! (Our Comment: We agree with you in this regard to some extent. But don’t Tollwood behave in the same manner that they are so superior gods!) 3. The celebrations were our home affair (industry affair). We don’t need to invite media and general public. (Our Comments: a). Wow, what a great quote! Then why did you call TV crews every other day to Film Chamber of Commerce before the celebrations and giving bytes to asking people to buy/donate delegate passes? If it was home-affair why do you need publicity prior to the function? You should have sent invitations to your relatives like all of us do a family function happens? b) Our Megastar Chiranjeevi in his speech and also during the press meet of the filming of the song said the celebrations should get wider publicity especially national and internationally Tollywood should be recognized. So you are contradicting with your own and important family member? c). Then if it is really home function why did you call in the media today post the celebrations and what is the need for giving explanation when you give damn for publicity?) 4. If government doesn’t give NTR award annually, we would take it up? (Our comment: So want to impress Nandamuri family. Good mathematics. But who’s stopping you to take up the award and implementing it? Why cry over the government? 90 percent of Tollywood personalities are Telugu Desam. Why did you make this comment when TD stopped giving the award?) Truth is my weapon |
