i too saw this article in this sunday's eenadu and will donate something. Also told about the same to my local telugu association guys. you can talk about this in any weekend Desi parties and $30 should not be an issue at all when it goes for whole year meals of one kid.
My kid upon convincing decided not to have a big birthday party and give her money to this cause.

a very inspiring story. and selfless act by this person. I donated 5k last year thru TANA foundation and 10k this year directly. There are several schemes to suit various people based on capacity, taste etc. I plan to donate on a sustainable basis.
Akshyapathra is also a very good scheme.
