It is very difficult to smile when a sword is stuck in one's back and that is what is happening to a prominent 3 letter production house.
The prominent production house produced a hit film with a 3 letter title and it is supposed to have given a profit of 25 crores already to the producer. They are in the unenviable position of not being able to say it aloud.
In the quarrel between brothers, the younger brother has said that half the profits of the films he asks for, should be given to him. That apart, the elder brother has other problems and need of money. That's why he engaged the grand director, so his problems would be taken care of.
But he planned in such a way that the budget escalated sky high. The lyricist who has the name of a character in the Ramayana, gets only Rs.30,000 for a song from others. The grand director is supposed to have got him 3 lakhs. Similarly, the actress who appeared only in a few scenes as the hero's mother, was given about 40 lakhs. Similarly, an assistant director was also given an exorbitant fee.
The films released by this production house have only one designer. But the grand director engaged an equally grand designer house, whose high tech designs did not reach the top star's fans. Even when the designs got ready, they were sent to the press only after the director said OK. This has also annoyed the production house, who paid up Rs.5 lakhs to the designer house and dispensed with their services.
They then signed on their usual designer house for a prescribed fee. So, the publicity from the film release till now is the work of this design house.
The film's graph is slowly reducing in the B & C centres. Many theatre owners and distributors could be facing loss. If that is so, they will ask the producer only for compensation. This has also put the producer in problem.
Though there is jubilation outwardly, there is misery on the inside. |
