prati UNIX command/shellScript/ oka return status return chestundigaa mama .. aa value .. so if you specify 10 here .. Autosys treats any return value less than 10 as successful completion of command..
in our datastage .. on success job returns status 0 and on warnings it returns 1 etc .. so we set it to 0 ..

here is some explanation
insert_job: <<Autosys_JobName>> job_type: << use c for command job>>
command: <<Command to be run>>
machine: <<TargetMachineName where job above command needs to run>>
owner: <<User ID which has to run above command>>
permission: <<optional .. as far as I know .. tells who can edit this autosys
job set it to gx,ge,wx,we,mx,me to et everybody >>
condition: <<If there are any dependencies that needs to be satisfied before
this autosys job (above command) runs you can specify here. Lets say this job can run
afster Job_A succeeds or Job_B Suceeds .. you will write s(Job_A) or s(Job_B) .. if
this job needs to run after both succeeded then you will say s(Job_A) and s(Job_B) >>
std_out_file: <<if the above command produces any output messages you can
redirect them to a file by specifying a logFile with path here>>
std_err_file: <<<<if the above command produces any ERROR messages you can
redirect them to a file by specifying a logFile with path here>>
max_exit_success: <<specify what return code from this command can be treated
as successful completion >>
profile: <<specify a path to profile that the above user have to inherit to
run the command.. just like .profile file etc>>

to export this job definition into your autosys scheduler .. go to autosys command
line (from start menu >> programs etc) and run:

easiest way TO learn .. is to create and save job from GUI .. and go to command line and import definition (it will come out as the one shown in prev post) and see what change in gui has what effect .. once you know that .. you can quickly code the text easily .. IMO GUI is very very slow to create multiple jobs!!
here is the command to get the job definition from command line:
autorep -j AutosysJobName -q

you will have a GUI, in that you can configure your JOB scheduling then it creates JIL file, if you want later on you can modify the JIL file manually also kadhaa babay |
