Yama Donga opened with thursday at 8 PM in Hollywood Theaters (Touring Talkies, Inc), Dallas. It opened with a record for the first show in this new theaters which are located in Irving. 8 PM show was the biggest single show on thursday evening ( week day) for yama donga in whole of United states. 378 people attended that show. By comparison bay area had 370 people for 3 shows on thursday( typically bay area market is double the size of Dallas market). By the end of saturday 9:30 pm show a total of 1489 people have seen Yama Donga in Dallas ( even when Dallas had Anand Bazaar - The Independence day function on saturday evening which is typically attended by about 30,000 people, the biggest annual desi gathering in dallas). With Sunday and 3 more week days to go Yama Donga is expected to cross 2000 people in first week in Dallas, which is a record for NTR's movies till date in Dallas.
With second and third run most likely Yama Donga is most likely to touch the magic figure of 3000.
NTR dances, Moha Babu Dialogues, Great settings, Mass appeal, entertainment value, strong promotion in Radio Salaam Namaste and websites has made this movie one of the best grossers in Dallas telugu market. The Hollywood theaters with stadium seating, hi-fi sound system has brought a refreshing movie watching experience to the Dallas telugu audience. There were long queues for every show and it was a treat to watch telugu community in great numbers. All in all, Yama Donga and New theaters has made history in Dallas.
