Oracle/ERP/(BO,cognos) vunde sota BO poyi hyperion vattandi kada.. because of oracle..
ippudu after SAP/BO marriage
(Darabase/SAP/BI tool) lo BO ki advantage.. because of SAP.. so it replaces cognos/hyperion.

i dont think so Bhupathi maama....SAP 7.1 anukuntaa latest release lo they have a module for reporting called SAP BI. Basicgaa SAP BW ni backendgaa ettukuni SAP BI ni front end gaa pedathunnaayi most companies...
ippudu SAP ni BO tho integrate chesi,SAP BI ni scrap cheyyaru....BO ni konnallu standalonegaa naduputhaaru ani naa thinkings....in futurelo emanna integrate chesthey cheyyocchu after 7-8 yrs....ee merger valla immediate impact emi undadhu ani naa vopinion |

cheppatam kastam.. Oracle Hyperion ni konadam valla BO ki loss.. ippudu SAP BO ni konadam valla BO ki gain vuntundi.. Loss/gain evaridi ento teliyali ante konchem time padutundi.. don't forget cognos/IBM possible aquisition..
over all nenu anukovatam it doesn't make any difference to us.. atleast in coming 1-2 years

bhupati garu cognos ni definite ga evaro okallu kontaru.. mostly IBM..
BI market consolidate avutundi.. end users ki less options.. you have to get combos ORACLE/SAP/IBM
next in line: informatica, BEA etc..

my ratings : toughnes wise
1) ETL:informatica : tough 50% : good career,longterm
2) etl: datastage : toucgh 80%, high pay. in fact india local companies lo only relaince infocomm uses datastage last year. i worked in reliance
3) cognos : easy to learn , good openings
4) BO : easy to learn , good openings
if u really wanna high pay and bright, go to ETL tools rather than reporting tools.
if u wanna easy ones go to reporting tools
