QT himself was named after Burt Reynold's character in the celluloid picture 'Gunsmoke' named Quint. When Quentin was 2, they moved to South Los Angeles which is where Quentin grew up. He worked in a video store named Video Archives in along with Roger . It is interesting to know that his first script "My Best Friend's Birthday' is still unfinshed,. He along with Avery and another frind wrote the script of True Romance while at the cideo shop. In 1988 Natural Born Killers' and in 1990 . It is rumored that he sold the script for his stories to finace He decided Reservoir Dogs . Harvey Keitel liked the script and consequrntly acted and financed the film. . Between 1882-4 QT and Avery worte stories for the 1994 blockbusyer Pulp Fiction. Numerous Oscar nominations like Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Actress, Best Editing followed and it won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. It is little known that QT founded a compny called Rolling Thunder and wrote/directed Four Roomsand clinic show 'ER' starring George Clooney( he also co-directed Richard Gecko with Clooney. He collaborated with Robert Rodriquez in 4 rooms, and acted in his picture Desperado. He also worte the story orr From Dusk Till Dwan . It was directed by Rodriquez and QT did a cameo in the film. It was succesfull and had a couple of sequels. --------to be continued Singh |

Amar Soadara: Long long time. It has been a while. Thanks for your message on my cell a while ago. You are right. You cannot forget Kaufman (to add to your list} Confessions of a Dangerous Mind directed by Geroge Clooney. Infact the interesting thing to note, is that the movie is a deviation from the actual script. I remmber reading that somewhere. The script is availabel from scriptorama. We will get to his scriptures a little later into the thread. Singh

I would start with QT and his scripts and his later acrimonus relation with ROger Avery who has distanced himself after some great collaborative work. They actually worked for the same video rental store. Coming up. Singh |

Guyz: The mid nineties storywriting was dominated by young turks. Roger Avery and the erstwhile QT came up with Reservoir dogs and the Oscar winning Pulp fiction. Natural Born Killers directed by Oliver Stone chronicles :JFK,Nixon, Reagan and yes!! Alexander was the director of the movie. People say that QT was so upset that he lierally choked the producer in a local bar and has an on again off again feud with Oliver Stone. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon received an oscar around the same time for Good Will Hunting. Manoj Knighty Syamalan is truly bi-modal though few will agree. It is hard to belive that he was the story writer of Stuart Little and at the same time Sixth Sense and Unbreakable Arriaga is ruimored to have written Ameros Perros and 21 grams for about five years and both of them are a treat to watch. Additionnaly QT had the story of Inglorious Bastards ready in the mid -nineties, but had to wait a long time for his cast. Now he has opted for the yet-to-be-names Mandarin film on Kungfu and halted Inglorious midaway. The Christofer's Nolan:Memento and McQuarrie's: Usual Supects were great original scripts. Needless to mention the OScars shine on McQuiire in 1995. I would like others to feed in more information about original story writing between 1990- 2005 so that we cna learn from one an other. I intend to add material on non-periodic basis. Have fun. Singh |
