Salman bhayya I too agree wid u even I was imagining a Harrison ford / RIchard gere kinda persona when reading the book ... brad pitt may suit the role of Albino better than anyone else.. but I doubt whether Brad pitt may agree to do such an inconsequential role... |

>> through the use of the chalice chalice kaadu swiss mama, cilice chalice is the cup finally finished reading the book - 6 hrs flat, raced against time just like in the novel. It was interesting to read about the details of christian history and sundry other theories, am more knowledgeable now about the dark side Since I guessed who ' the teacher' was fairly early on, it wasnt much of a surprise, same with the ending. I think TOm Hanks is a bad choice, to being with - the lady Sophie has more imp than this guy, am sure they will tweak it around. Dan Brown probably wanted harrison ford, he actually makes such a comment in the book. Jean Reno for Fache sounds OK though I thought he might make a better Albino. given that the decision has been made, I think they should use that long haired assassin from 'the firm' for the part of Albino. who are they using for Leigh Teabing ? I think Richard Attenborough might be good - atleast I was imagining him as I read through the book. It can be a good thriller and I think Ron Howard can handle this well. Although I had read 'a beautiful mind' earlier on, he still managed to surprise me with that English roommate character. let's see how this turns out |

the da vinci code didnt do much other than sensetionalize theorys thats have existed since centuries in a broader medium...other than the facts that the opus dei existed and there was a secret society called the priory of scion...there was very little new/breakthrough info that the book provied. I agree with IBmast that the book didnt provide for a thrilling read since the plot as such was pretty predictable. I would certainly give a second look to the painting from the master, da vince. the author did the right thing in refusing to reveal what the grail really was in the end. No words could have satisfed the image and importance build up through the course of the book. The opus dei have debunked dan browns claim of self desipline through the use of the chalice. As far as the movie goes...tom hanks is the worst possible choice all though I am waiting to see the selection and presentation of the albino on the big screen... for those who are interested in movies that have "troubled the church", to put it mildly, please give "the last temptation of christ", a film by the master, scorsese (what does the guy have to do to win an oscar), who portrays christ and mary magdeline in a way which would make the pope poop(apologies for the pun to the christians in the forum). the book ...fyi...is based on research done by a brazilian scholar who did considerable research on the dead sea scrolls which was the latest proof of mary magdalines importance in the life of jesus christ. As far as the link to the knights templar or the free masons...there are clear artisic liberties in the rendition...non the less...make for a good read.... there is a documentry out on DVD called "breaking the Da Vinci Code" produced by the pro church "crusaders", which sadly is more of an effort to rebuke dan brown than to clear the air. great posting... |

Reproduced from a discussion in IBDB Neee: raff mama - passion lo kaadu nenannadi, malena lo. passion lo aa scene undunte, naa sami ranga adiredi. final scene lo Jesus ni koduthunte, ane vaadu 'Bring it ON ' - flashback lo his romance and the good times with bellucci vasthu unte, he would endure all the pain with a smile, all our sins will be washed away in ONE glorious earth-shattering orgasmic event. kya scene hai !! parledu mama - we are all faceless and nameless in the pursuit of truth. so do you mean, the son of virgin died a virgin ? If there's any xtian on board, I would seriously like to know the answer. IBM: Read the Da Vinci Code, my child .. for hidden in its pages lies the truth u thirst for..and also the answer to ur question |

nee yenks prassu, naasthikudu kaadehe. someone who DOES things against annamata. like temple lokelli ucha poyadam. chala revolting thought kadaaa, alanti panulu chese vaallu anuko. but original ga start aindi matram, anyone who did not accpet catholic church's stmnts. ex: galileo proved earth is not center of universe, church found him a heretic ... and punished \\\ IBM, what was the comment I made ? dont remember , an aging mind's synaptic activity seems to be slowing down. funny thing is that I havent read the book yet. if it really is of such gargantuan proportions, will be very interesting how ron howard would mould it |

Not too bad machaan. A new job that takes away most of my time... btw book chaduvutunappudu I remembered one of ur posts that brought me a chuckle..remember ur comments on mary magdalene and jesus during a discussion on Passion of the christ..For all that u know,it might be true (going by what the novel reveals about Jesus and Mary magdalene):-) While the book does not mention Hinduism, it lists nature worship, worshipping the female, celebrating sexual union of the male and female forms as some pagan practices all of which are inherent to Hinduism. kaskbabu I seriously doubt it. The book has a lot of discussion on symbology, the knights trmplar movement , pagan practices which would be very difficult to translate on to a 2 hr celluloid piece. A great documentary yes but a feature film..!?1@!# Infact there was a fascinating docu on channel 4 that makes a valiant effort to debunk all that the da vinci code reveals. |

Thanks to my hour long travel to work everyday I am almost at the end.(Langdon and Sophie arrive at the Roslin templin and Sophie has a feeling of deja vu). The premise is very interesting...the search for the holy grail..The plot tends to get quite predictable at times but some of the 'facts' related to christianity esp the ones relating to Mary Magdalene are indeed astonishing. Also I found the links between the pentacle and the 'sacred feminine' very intriguing. w.r.t the pentacle, has anyone noticed that the pentacle is also a very popular 'muggu' design back home.I believe there is a Venus connection to this and thereby to the 'sacred feminine' (in our case maybe to some female deity like lakshmi, etc). This establishes a strong link between Hindusim and what the church refers to as pagans? Are we a pagan faith? The next time I go to paris, I know Ill have to keep my eyes wide open to see what the mischevous da vinci is trying to say in an otherwise boring painting.

I just completed reading this sensational book. It is being made as a movie with tom hanks in the lead role. The facts claimed by the author are astonishing, but the plot of the book was nothing special than a normal cliched hollywood action movie... I dont think it would make a gud movie.. ur opinions.... |
