it was a movie based on the general perception of the west of the "mystic" east.
Tourism to india wasnt big around the time the movie released and george lucas just created roles on the indian stereotypes, the snake charmer and the tantric...
given that they dont shy away from ridiculing their own culture, if they have one, i couldnt care less...it was fun.
all though i was a bit surprised at the banquet scene...becasue monkey brain and snake as a food in india is unheard of
its just a movie |

One of the good movie. The way they showed indians in this movie is very bad. Indians would have filed a case in International court. But dont know why they didnt? |

How many of you saw "Indiana Jones and the Temple of The Doom" - 2nd in the triology of Indiana Jones. Is it still banned in India?
If you take the satire against Indian tradition and culture in lighter vein, its a pretty good movie to watch. Amrish puri was very good.
ps: Tuntari, in your classics, you can add this triology in your collection.
