reg. shakthi kapoor issue, I too feel he is victim... I guess some time or other everyone speaks BS about people in industry. It is channel's stupidity to make it an issue by sending its journo.

A TV program that was transmitted on 20/03 afternoon turned a discussable topic in Hyderabad.
Veteran author Sobha De appeared as one among the speakers in the show conducted by NDTV this afternoon (20/03) on the recent issue of Shakthi Kapoor getting trapped in a spy cam while misbehaving with an aspiring actress.
Other speakers in the show included Shakthi Kapoor and Mahesh Bhatt on the hot seat while the people of both the genders are before them to shell them with verbal bombardment.
Sobha De says that Shakthi is the victim of voyeuristic journalism. “It’s a perfect voyeurism but not journalism. Casting couch is every where in every industry.”, she said and also added, “I really pity for Sakthi’s family and their feelings on this issue”.
While Mahesh Bhatt said that it would be better to switch off the televisions when something unwanted in being screened, a young girl questioned him, “Should we do the same while watching the films ‘Rog’ or ‘Murder’?
Then Mahesh Bhatt answered her saying, “I’m a prostitute selling myself. Come to me only when you wish”, and added, “I haven’t shown those films in nasty voyeuristic ways. I have sent that to censor board and got approved. People have bought tickets and made them run for more than 50 days. It’s beneath contempt if people pointing us to be deprived of morality and social responsibility”.
In reciprocation to Mahesh Bhatt’s explanation another lady said, “It is not switching off the televisions that gives a solution. What should be done is switching on the rational minds”
Another woman raised her hand and said, “What Mahesh Bhatt said was right. I say that the people, who tend to watch and enjoy something sensuous and sexy, speak ill of it later”.
But a few minutes later when Shakthi said, “I do respect women”, the whole mob in the studio has laughed at him.
The discussion continued and finally Shakthi Kapoor shouted against the TV Channel for their mean approach with spy camera.
However, the discussion in television was watched by myriad Telugus skipping from the routine Telugu channels between 12 and 1 in the Sunday afternoon.
Isn’t the old controversial statement of Sekhar Kapoor, the director flashing on our mental screen that says, “Film industry is a glorified brothel house”.
Well, this discussion gives an impression that the educated women like Sobha De are apparently in support of cast couching and body show of women in films |
