gaali mama nuvvu dravid nee emanna annu...kaani dravid nee team player kaadhu ante nenu oppukonnu...dravid has always put the team interests ahead...he took up wicketkeeping even though he was not a genuine wK and even though he hated keeping...as for your question why he didnt open...they tried opening with dravid quite a few times but he always failed...he performed his best at no. 3..but dravid has always been a team player...

nehra was the best bowler for the first 2/3 matches..
ofcourse he had a bad day.
but yesterday instead of persisting with nehra..gangs could have used sehwag or himself..
look at rajaaq..he bowled quite well..
i feel gangs..can be a better bowler if he starts bowling too often.

exactly my feelings too..
i still dont understand abt dravid...reluctance to opening.
he has the best technique.yet he says he is not mentally prepared for the role..
but i am happy when he opted to keep for the team cause..in the one days.
anyhow it did helped him to have a secure place in the one day side.
and in addition to that he improved a lot in his batting.. |

Gaali mama I beg to differ on this mama infact Ganguly has to get his basics right u remmeber wat Sachin did when he was out of form in Sydney he restricted his offside play inspite of him being a very good offside player.. in the same way Ganguly has to play selectively he is trying to prove something to the bowlers like that he is a very good Hooker and puller come on does nt he realise that even a 2 year old kid knows that Gangu is not a good hoker and puller..
And we have seen tonnes of times when he gets out for a stupid shot which he very well knows is not goin to get him anywhere!!
so he has to go back to the board get his basics right also forget the fact that he is agreat player!! and then come back with a clear frame of mind and stop carrying the excess baggage called ego when playing short balls!!
If u remember Steve waugh was never a good puller of hooker of the ball.but as Chappell Aptly remarks though steve waugh is very poor against short balls but he rarely gets out bcos he knows the fact that he is poor and what he does is triues to stop it with his body or fend it away .. but some bowlers fail to realize it they keep pitching him short and he comfortable fends them away!!this is just for your info.. |

Another thing that our batsmen fail to do (like Ganguly and Dravid) is rotate the strike. ODI avvanivvandi Test avvanivvandi. They just have to push the ball into the gaps. Wickets lose ayinaa sare cheyyochu yee pani rather than just playing defense. They only do it once in a blue moon. |

I am a great fan of Sachin, Dravid, Laxman etc. But, I am tired of their indirect complaints and their reluctance to do what is good for the team.
Examples being Sachin reluctant to bat down the order in ODI's, his cribbing of declaring when he was in the 190's etc. Dravid and Laxman were reluctant to open the innings for India. I never got their point. At that time the one down batsman was almost always coming to bat in the first 10 overs. SO what was the big deal? Can't they do that much for the team. Can't they brave it?
Look at guys like Justin Langer and Younis Khan. They are ready to bat wherever the team wants them to with no questions asked.

true gaali mama..
somehow i am not convinced with sachin/sehwag..pair too..
sehwag/ganguly wud have been a better choice..
to me the best player in the team shud play at 4 in both forms of the game.and that is sachin..
but bcoz of sachin reluctance to come down the order..he has to come down...
and it did nt suit his style of play though he is too good against spinners..

i think he will be given one more chance..
judging by the comments of the selectors and cheif selector in particular..
i feel he will be back in the team..
moreover ban is good break for him so that he can really work on his form and come back strongly.
but i wonder whether there are any domestic matches in the pipeline for him to prove his point.
one day series with sl is scheduled in july..
hopefully he will be back with a bang |

One bad series cannot be the reason to exclude a good captain and player like Ganguly.
