Suri ‘men’ eye cable business Anantapur, April 13: Cable television is an unending source of entertainment for the public. But for the factionists and unscrupulous elements, it is a fountainhead of regular income. The war to gain upper hand over the business has been going on in the district headquarters ever since the change of government. According to sources, the supporters of slain Penuko-nda MLA Paritala Ravindra used to dominate the field during their heydays, but not anymore. One after the other, the business castles of most of the Paritala’s supporters appeared to be crumbling in the district. Soon after the change in government, the cable television network was invol-ved in a controversy wherein one person tried to grab the entire business by displaying hunting sickles and also claiming the support of the ruling party. The cable network gave an indirect partnership to a legislator’s brother to save the network from falling into the hands of the intimidator. Now SitiCable, the biggest network in the town, is be-ing targeted by one section, claiming to be enjoying the support of the ruling party. Unidentified people, claiming to be the supporters of Maddalacheruvu Suri, are reportedly cutting the cable wires belonging to the SitiCable in a bid to sabotage the cable network business. According to sources, 72 per cent of the cable network business is monopolised by the SitiCable while the rest is being controlled by the ATP channel. There were reports that Paritala had a big share in the SitiCable. A full-blown war is thus likely as the factionists and unscrupulous elements have begun claiming their share in the pie of cable network business. E faction godavalu chesse vallu bagane untaru..
