one of my friend who referred me to vonage mentioned that it worked since 6 months w/o any restart of router, cable modem. and in india this one worked well per sources.
i happened to buy this one from staples when browsed through the site. i did not contact anyone before doing this about other services.
In our house we have TW Cable and we dont use torrents anymore. The network speeds is 3MPBS i think.. and 6 laptop WiFi and two IVPN ports are used.. so this load shld be Ok |

I had two problems, one as I told earlier, other I had comcast which didnt renew my promotion rate.

but its very cheap and lot of people are happy

I used to use Packet8 VoIP.. Everything will be OK as long as you use wirelss router and use phone not connecting thru computer.
But the main problem is that if you have heavy internet activity over a period of time, you need to reset the modem/router.
Also if you have a torrent/download running, voice over phone will be having a lag either for you or for others hearing you. Like voice will not be continuous. Like using calling cards to India.
So while on phone dont download anything.
Packet8 is cheaper than Vonage. For 19.99 you get unlimited canada,US.. |

Bought device LinkSys PAP2 (Cisco) DPA for 50 bucks.(will get that anyway after 3 months of service activation). So device will be absolutely free.
Took Vonage Basic 500 for 14.99 connection..
-> The setup went through without any hassle.
-> Quality is excellent.. Tested calling to Canada quality is nice too.
--> Did a mistake of activation and called up CS and they rectified it without any questions.
-> Online account management.
-> Voicemail reminder mail
Will test this device from India soon with broadband quality. Will post the quality/the issues later.
