ee pichchodi dreams tho inka enni rojulu janaalni v.p's chesthaadu? Hyderabad will be capital of T-State: KCR Hyderabad will remain the capital of Telangana and people want Hyderabad be made the capital of Andhra State or a Union Territory, did not seem to have brains, Telangana Rashtra Samiti president and Union Minister of Labour Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao asserted on Wednesday. Addressing a 3,000-strong party delegates convention on the occasion of the fourth foundation day celebrations of TRS, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao in an oblique reference to the comment made by Minister for Panchayat Raj Mr J. C. Diwakar Reddy, said the demand was nonsensical. “The shortest distance between Hyderabad and any part of Andhra or Rayalaseema, whether it is Krishna district or Kurnool district, is not less than 200 km. If Hyderabad is made capital of Andhra after the formation of Telangana, no fool will be willing to travel 200 km in a neighbouring State to reach his capital city,” he said. He pointed out that Hyderabad has been the capital of Telangana region for several generations and it was built with the sweat and blood of Telanganaites, who had paid taxes to the then Nizam government. “The demand for making Hyderabad a Union Territory is nothing but a deep-rooted conspiracy of Andhraites and integrationists,” he said. Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao also dismissed as “pichitanam” (madness), the demand put forth by certain leaders from Rayalaseema for a separate State or a compensation of Rs 50,000 crore if Telangana was formed. During his 45-minute speech, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao made every effort to convince the party functionaries that Telangana State would soon be a reality. “Certain forces who are strongly opposing Telangana State are spreading a vicious campaign. We could muster the support of more or less all political parties in the UPA. Even CPM national secretary Prakash Karat, while asserting that his party was against further division of the linguistic States, categorically said it was not against Telangana State in particular. Yet, the media tried to project that I drew a blank with CPM,” he said. |
