Admittedly, it is not ARR's problem if NANI fails. No one blamed him on that account in the first place. But the accusation- that he failed as a music director- still remains. One extra-ordinary song (Pedhavee Palikina), a good song (Naani Vayasee Iravai YEnimidhi) and an above average number ( Chakkara Ekkada daachina) does not qualify it to be a great album. If the content was really good, then the music sales would have continued irrespective of its box-office status-his own albums Super Police, Padmavyuhavam (dubbed version of Revathy's Pudhiyamugam) and several other's like the recent Gharshana did very well though they failed at b.o.

there was a tiff between Guna and Jr NTR regarding heroene selection.
Jr NTR fans please don't get offend, this is waht the news I have got.
jr NTR vs Sameera reddy Julakataka. jr gaadu tega kummutunnadu anta. daaniki cheppadu ante, keep your dates free ani. So when Guna said the story of the movie, jr suggested Sameera name as heroene. Guna wanted a cute girl to be paired up with NTR. He instantly denied that suggestion. That is the starting point for the tussle between Guna and NTR. Then NTR also told producer Kishore about booking sameera reddy as heroene. Kishore is more worried about his athadu, so he kept mum, then NTR informed producer that you can sheilve the project, if you do not want to listen to me.
Anthaku mundu NTR ki VVV ki godava vachindi. malla ee madya oka pedda manishi veella iddarini kalipadu on the request of Jr NTR. Now VVV again roped on this project.

failed to add value to the team ? I think the songs were pretty good, if the movie sux - aint his problem. of late, that has been one sad thing for Rahman , many of his gems simply go unnoticed cuz the movie bombs.
For his brand image and the kind of time and output he gets, I wont blame Rahman if he is choosy. He has tried to accommodate inferior movie makers a lot of times and has suffered having to be part of a bad movie. |

Accomodating is one thing and delivering goods in another thing. So he certainly accomodated them (after making them wait for months) but failed to add value to the team. Hence, the blame.
And don't tell me that he couldn't deliver because of his busy schedule.
I also remember Rehman going ga ga over Surya's narration (of the script). So, he taking up this project for the heck of it is also ruled out.

I know of more than one case where ppl want Rehman inspite of his lack of interest, just cuz his name inspires sales. And he accommodates them. How bad were Naani audio sales ?
If HJ is approachable, thats cuz he is no where in that class yet. I brought him in to indicate that Mani is way better than HJ

Surya and Manjula di. Rahman was busy with Bombay dreams and everyone knew it, still they went after him. and no, I dont think 'Naani' is a mediocre album
and coming to HJ, someone who copies Rahman to the T, has one song of Rahman as his inspiration in every album almost , has not really trailblazed anything - other than following rahman's footsteps. |

Surya worked with Deva and the audio(Tamil Kushi) was super hit. He teamed up with Mani Sharma for Kushi and I don't have to tell about the result. But his association with Rehman, 'THE GENIOUS', resulted in just a mediocre album. Now whose fault is it? Suryadhaaa leeka Rehman dhaa? For a big budget film with Jr, Gunasekhar prepared the script and the film is going to floors in June 1st week, but with unexpected events, the same script was given to VVV to handle the Megaphone. The reasons are unknown and reason might be Guna is having some other problems and he is not willing to work in any movie for another 8 months. |
