My favorites:
* The last innings of Gavaskar, when he scored 96 against Pakisthan at Chinnaswamy Stadium....this test will go down as an example for sledging in cricket. Pakisthani players appealed every other ball...on the other hand, we kept loosing wickets regularly....but Sunny showed his class..he batted, batted and batted...scored 96 invaluable runs and brought India close to victory...one stupid decision deprived him of a perfect end to his magnificient career!
The 52 runs of Ravi Shasthri in the second innings in the tied cricket test at Madras....unbelievable cricket!! I am sure the hearts of all the Indian fans would have paused atleast once. What a player! A perfect utility man!!
Kapil's 78 (i guess) at Lords:India needed some 28 runs (or 18 runs) to avoid follow on in the 1990 Lord's test match, but only had one wicket remaining. But Kapil displayed a dazzling stroke play and hit Eddi Hemmings for 4 shots (either 4 6's or 4 4's)...Those days, Doordarshan never used to broadcast the tests played in other countries...so we were listening to the TMS commentary..it's very difficult to describe the joy we had after Kapil hit the fourth stroke!
