Intamandi ikkada ahaa ohoo antunnaaru Singh gurinchi. We say he was instrumental in bringing financial reforms??? But, what was he doing till 1991, when India was literally bankrupt and had to mortgage its gold reserves during Chandrasekhar's tenure? He was instrumental in policy making for a very long time before he became Finance Minister and his speciality all has been International Trade???? Why didn't he advise Indira or Rajiv to liberalise and bring financial reforms before he became Finance Minister??? Even in 1991 India had to liberise becuase World bank had set conditions to that effect and extended credit to India?? And we all just tout him as father, mother, grand father, etc.. of refors in India, Infact he was also responsible for the mess India was in before 1991. Now don't shout at me???? |
