Union Minister of State for Coal Dasari Narayana Rao is now in a sort of catch 22 situation. His Rajya Sabha term will come to an end by next April and he has to get re-nominated to the Upper House, if he wants to retain his ministry at the Centre. But, according to Gandhi Bhavan sources, there is a tough competition for the Rajya Sabha post, to be vacated by him. It is very rare in the Congress that a candidate gets nominated to Rajya Sabha more than once. So, it is doubtful for Dasari to get re-elected. Since already V Hanumantha Rao is representing the Kapu community in Rajya Sabha, Dasari cannot seek another term. Therefore, Dasari has almost made up his mind that he would be ex-Union minister by this time next year!
