Pournami collected 7 crores in 8 days
Today is the 8th day of film’s release. Pournami is running today in 32 theaters of Hyderabad out of with 12-13 theaters are going houseful. Pournami collected a share of 7 crores in 8 days in AP alone which is high by any standards.
Pournami picked up good talk as ladies entered the theaters
There was a divide talk on day one and two. We were mentally prepared to listen to divide talk as this film is not a routine commercial film. But the talk and the collections did not match. This film belongs to the league of Oke Okkadu and Chandramukhi. Both these films started with a bad talk and went on to become blockbusters. Likewise, Pournami too is picking up the good talk once ladies started coming to the theaters. The other night a girl called me up and praised Pournami as a classic.
I don’t make films for 2000 people
I made this film for 7 and half crores of Andhra audience to appreciate and pass judgment. I don’t bother about the comments hurled by 2000 people. No distributor has lost money on my films. If anybody loses some amount in one film, I will compensate with another film. In a way I take blame for the divide talk on the day one because I raised the expectations on the film.
10 lakh share in Narsipatnam
People are terming Pournami as a class film. I differ with that statement. In a mass center like Narsipatnam where Okkadu collected a share of 6 lakhs, Pournami is going to collect a share of 10 lakhs. I never made any bad film. I tried Pournami with an intention to make a new kind of film. All my statements are genuine about Pournami.
D Rama Naidu and Krishnam Raju liked Pournami
D Rama Naidu asked me to preview Pournami to his family a day before the release. His eyes were filled with wetness as he said that I made a good film. Krishnam Raju too liked this film immensely.
Prabhas gave subtle performance
Prabhas has given very subtle performance in Pournami. He is a very hardworking and passionate actor. He had so much confidence in me that he never asked me for story or scene clarification throughout the making of Pournami. I also would like to thank heroines who worked overnights to do night scenes in film.
We are planning to organize platinum disc function on this Sunday in one of the Hyderabad’s theaters. |
