Once a government rule has been passed, it is applicable to all the citizens, and film personalities are no exception. Recently the regional censor board issued ‘A’ certificates to Pokiri, Veerabhadra, Bangaram and 10th Class. This clearly implies that those below the age of 18 cannot watch these films. Further the producers, distributors and exhibitors are expected to display the ‘A’ certificate on the movie stills and posters. Unfortunately these producers flouted the rule and shockingly there is nobody to ensure that it is followed. The end result is that many families landed up at movie theatres to watch these films along with their minor kids.
T. Vijaykumar Reddy, the regional board censor chief, admitted that these films were given ‘A’ certificates. “There is lot of violence and needless exposure in all these movies,” says the censor chief. “Even theatre owners are expected to display the Adults only certificate so that minors can stay away from these films,” he added.
When questioned as to who is responsible for ensuring the implementation of this rule, the blame game begins. Says Reddy, “After we give the certificate it’s upto the police to check whether theatre owners are following the rules.” He further adds, “We have a very small team and it is not possible for us to keep tabs on theatres and producers in the entire State. The police have to check this because only they can take action.”
The AP Film Chamber of Commerce is required to give a clearance certificate for the publicity of any film. “The producer has to show the clearance certificate to the Censor Board after which the latter views the film to give the final clearance certificate,” says C. Kalan, secretary, APFCC. But most film producers get their posters printed even before receiving the censor certificate.
“If the censor people give an‘A’ certificate, the producer has to depict the same on all the posters, otherwise the authorities should take action against him,” says Kalyan. However, G. Sudhir Kumar, DCP, task force, says, “This is a minor issue. If it comes to our notice, then we will take action.”
Puri Jagannath, the producer of Pokiri was unavailable for comment. It is rumoured that if films featuring big stars are given an‘A’ certificate and the same is carried on the movie posters, it directly affects the film’s revenue. When contacted, producer of Veerabhadra, Ambika Ramachandra Rao feigns ignorance saying, “I didn’t know that we had to carry the ‘A’ certificate on the posters. I will check it now.”

Having a good movie alone is not suffice..It is the hold you have also counts...working hard alone does not pay but working smart pays you more...
absolutely right...both Suresh Movies and Marauthi sorry MS Raju are holding onto the theatres in all major side areas..even though collections are not great...
Surprising that a PK, NBK movies are having no direct release in major areas and most of Pokiri's side theatres are getting replaced with baangaram..even without a 1 week run...
I think AM Ratnam is also having a big hand in lifting thetares of Pokiri (max.) and VB (some thetares) by releasing baangaram on May 3rd...He could ahve delayed his release by at least another 2 days...
So these are all the smart tricks played by influential producers of Tollywood...
That is why I am saying that smart work pays you more...so even if a movie is good you should ahve the capacity to make it run...but if you have the power you can make a bad movie also run...
it holds good for any language...in tamil...I will give you a glaring example...Vikram's APR in Satyam complex collected a record 1 crore gross for 50 days...but it was lifted from 51st day onwards...Mind you APR was replaced with a small insignificant movie...Neither Shankar nor Oscar ravichandran could do nothing about it...they were mere spectators...This is because generally Kollywood high influential producers try to kill Vikram's movies at any cost...But Vijay (his dad SAC Tamil directors' president) has all his flop films also running smoothly for 100 days...
In Hindi...galring examples are Shah Rukh vs Amitabh / Abhishek in today's context...They will see that in Mumbai..no hit movie of Abhishek has a direct run of 100 days in the main thetare..For Shah Rukh..even a flop to average movie will be ensured a minimum run of 100 days in Mumbai...
DDLJ..is a record in Mumbai..last year it completed a 10 year run...
Ghajini which collected far less gross than APR in the same Satyam complex in Chennai for 50 days had a longer run..
Rajini's Chandramukhi...I need not say it has already had a 365 day run in Shanti - Prabhu's own thetare... |

Yes mama..you are right..there may be pressure from MS Raju to hold on the movie in all these areas...mind you MS Raju is holding rights for all thetares in twin cities...Marauthi is only the liasioning officer by giving its leased theatres to MS Raju..So Maruthi is not loosing in any way even if the collections are dull...
MS Raju is the one who will be the looser...But after all one flop of Pournami is not affecting him in any way beacuse he is apparently holding liquid assets worth nearly 70-80 crores...an article was featured on him in India Today as the most influential people in AP and his name figured as a successful producer in AP...
So on a prestige basis he is holding onto all the thetares which are under lease of Maruthi films and relesaing those which are not under lease of Maruthi...
MS Raju appeared in Gemini in 24 frames today..He was looking completely relaxed and was laughing unlike the last week's press meet where his nervousness was being shown...He seems to be having a game plan..by making Pournami as an advertsied hit.. He is celebrating the Platinum disc function tomorrow in brahamarambha on May 2nd with all the leading cast and crew members...function which was supposed to take place in Devi yesterday was cancelled due to security reasons apparently..
But Pokiri thetares got badly mauled with baangaram's release on May 3rd...again a ploy to destroy Pokiri..Baangaram could have well been relesaed on May 5th..may 3rd is not a festival..it is to kill Pokiri in bud stage..its collections in twin cities will take a heavy beating...as 12-13 theatres loss is not a joke...
Baangaram will have a 9 day week...
Then Pokiri might get released again in those thetares but then by that time steam will loose..
But Pokiri in side theatres...collections are really not that great unlike the hype particularly in areas of Old City / Patencheru / Mehdipatnam / Miyapur etc. |

i think it lost grip on collection few days back only
till now i find only two major centers replaced or being replaced
kapra - shavashakti its replaced by pokiri
and from 3rd at r.c.puram its being replaced by bangaram
what about other centers like uppal,karmanghat,malkajgiri,vanastalipuram,jeedime tla,secundarabad,shamshabad,medchal
why those centers not yet being replaced
