Naga Babu elected MAA President
Megastar Chiranjeevi's brother Naga Babu has been declared elected the new President of Movie Artistes' Association unopposed as there was none who filed nomination against him. Similarly, Jagapthi Babu is declared elected the Executive Vice President while Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, the Treasurer of the association. Election to other posts will be held on October 8 th when the new body would take charge.

Mallikharjuna Rao elected MAA Gen-Sec
Mallikharjuna Rao, senior artiste, is elected the General Secretary of the Movie Artistes' Association. He defeated Sivaji Raja, who contested the elections on a panel set up by the newly elected President Nagababu. Another person who lost to Mallikharjuna Rao is AVS. The elections were conducted in a hectic manner at Dr. D. Ramanaidu building complex with more than 300 artistes turning up, apart from big public gathering. Srikanth and Srihari were elected the Vice Presidents., while Vijay Chander (Karunamayudu) and O, Kalyan had lost in the contest.
At a function followed by the results announcement, the outgoing President Dr. Mohan Babu urged all the artistes to keep their unity in tact.
Nagababu, taking over the charge from Dr. Mohan Babu, said that he would carry on the good works undertaken by the latter.
