In my case, it is 0.75 i.e. more than 1K free money. there is no point in selling at deep losses. so keep it. Even after going back to India, can can hold on to your 401k. If u are changing employer, then best option is roll over to IRA. On IRA, U have better control & U can pick better stocks. |

I joined a company around one and half year ago and I am clueless about the saving plans like 401k etc. With help of my friend, I actually found out how much I am actually investing in 401k. I did a little research on this and found that I lost a lot of money by investing in growth funds. Later I changed my investments to preservation funds which is less risky. However, I am planning to move back to India in a couple of years. So, Is it worth even investing in 401k? I am not sure about how much I will be getting back if decide to leave the country. Please advise. Bhoot hoon main. |
