Steve Bucknor, a member of the ICC elite panel of umpires, has been removed from officiating in the third Test between Australia and India in Perth. Malcolm Speed, chief executive of the ICC, confirmed the same during a press conference in Melbourne. Bucknor will be replaced by New Zealand umpire Billy Bowden.
"I expect that Steve [Bucknor] will continue as an ICC Elite panel umpire but what we're seeking to do here is to take some tension out of the situation", Speed said.
