Go, Watch Jodha Akbar. A virtual tour to the great mughal emporer's one of the finest romance during the 15th Century. Spectacular & visually breathtaking. Though the same cannot be told on the content & story. Who cares when it leaves your internal sensuousness yearning for more!!!

Interval oka 10 mts, Movie tho patu 3 Trailrs adi oka 5 mts each kalipli around 4 hrs ani cheppa.
Movie is only around 3 hrs 30 mts.
Don not miss it, it is a good movie despite its LENGTH and PACE. |

My Review:
Its always a brave attempt to make a historical movie in todays times.
So the big question is if the team of Aushutosh, Hrithik, UTV, Rahman and Aishwarya have succeed to make a spectacular movie or not?
Sadly my answer is NO as they did succeed in some parts and not in totality.
I wont go into the details of the story, as basically its love story between Mughal emperor Jalal Muhammad Akbar and a rajput princess Jodha.
The biggest drawback of the movie is its LENGHT and PACE, the movie is whopping 3 hours and 50 mts. I am shell shocked how the makers can make such a lengthy movie that too very slow pace.
Movie starts on interesting note with a voice over from Amitabh and has all the twists, drama you expect in a movie like this.
1st half is almost 2 hrs long and is very slow paced, I wish they made they increased the 1st half pace and reduced the length.
2nd half is much better compared to 1st half, though the length is always a problem.
Positives
------------
1) Ashutosh Gowariker direction is brilliant is some parts
2) Hrithik Roshan did a great job. His screen presence is amazing, I cant imagine anyone playing Akbars role.
3) Excellent background score by Rahman and music sounds good in the movie.
4) Lavish production values.
5) Some great moments
Negatives
------------
1) LENGTH and PACE of the movie
2) 1st half pace is too slow when compared to 2nd half
3) Some scenes seem to be inspired from TROY
Overall its worth watching atleast once, if you do not have the luxury of 3 hrs 50mts, watch it atleast on DVD so that you can fast forward at your pace. |
