The theme of the film runs around land mafia and how it affects common man and how he retaliates on the system for justice. Story: A social awareness tale, the film begins with the normal life of Vijay (Nitin) who is working on his goal to become a police officer and spends his fun time with friends Ravi (Shashank), Satyam (Duvvasi) and others. Meanwhile, Vijji’s father (Tanikella) is busy looking out for a suitable alliance for his son and thanks to the matrimonial sites he gets the perfect match in Janaki (Mamta Mohandas) who works with a bank. On the other hand, there is MLA Devaraj (Ashutosh Rana) who is less of a public servant and extreme of a mafia don specializing in land grabbing. He has a competitor in Pandu (Supreeth) and their wars keep going on until one day Pandu is killed by Devaraj. Things take a turn when Devaraj sets his eyes on the Seetharamaiah society land in which Vijay’s father along with few other known people have got their plots. Devaraj hatches an evil plan, bribes the required officials, cops and politicians including the Chief Minister himself. In this process, many families are disturbed and this disturbs Vijay and his friends who also have their share of personal woes due to Devaraj’s activities. It is then that Vijay decides to put an end to Devaraj’s evil doings and with the help of Sindhu (Sindhu Tolani), Ravi, Sathyam and other friends, he comes up with another master plan. Is his plan successful, what happens to the land that has been taken by Devaraj, all this forms the rest of the story. Artistes and Technicians: Nitin looks stylish and chic in his new look and one must admit that he has worked really hard to get those eight pack abs. His dance was okay and stunts were acceptable, but then he needs to work on his dialogue delivery and it will really help for him if he takes off that strained expression on his face. Overall, his performance was upto standard. Mamta provided the required glamour but in a very decent manner, she is a natural beauty so her looks were definitely appealing.Shashank’s expressions were good, Duvvasi was a real entertainer with his Telangana slang, Sindhu Tolani is slowly getting back into the groove and she definitely looks attractive in the film, Ashutosh Rana did his evil act with perfection though he has a serene face throughout, Supreeth is one man who does not have to do much, he is the perfect baddie, Ajay was silent and was brief, Brahmanandam, Ali and Krishna Bhagawan were underutilized, Tanikella was elegant, M S was masterly in his act, the others were upto the required mark and contributed to the film. A lot of credit goes to the director for having presented the film in a very pacy manner without leaving any scope for boredom. The narration was alright, camera did its job well by capturing the scenes perfectly, costumes department was excellent, good choice of attires for all the characters, music was just about average and most of the tunes have been inspired from many places, editing was deft, script was overall better though it had few flaws. Side Lights: Cinematography deserves good mention Costumes are well designed for all artistes Music would have been little better Screenplay and direction are good First Half and Second Half: The opening of the film is very effective and the first 40 minutes goes in pukka tempo without losing the grip on audiences. The film suffers little boredom during a couple of comedy scenes with Ravi Babu and extended romantic scenes. Second half maintains the similar good tempo as in first 40 minutes and finally culminates in effective climax. Report: The narration of the film on a whole is entertaining and the audiences come out with a good feel. The film is more or less holds comparison with Samanyudu that ran well at box office. It’s a fight of common man on the ineffective system in intelligent way. Although it’s the story of a common man, it’s not that close to reality in the matter of fight with land mafia dons. Heroism with all mass commercial gimmicks is maintained through the film. Recommendation: Watch it -Reviewed by Timmarusu (timmarusu@gmail.com) |
