That's correct but I am not looking at doubling my investment in days, that's called gambling. I am looking for a double in 4 to 5 years. A nice dividend while waiting would be a bonus. There are quite a few attractively priced now. One thing I learned over years: You can never time the market perfectly, I mean it's impossible to predict top/bottom. I am very happy the bailout deal was just defeated in the house. The White House only did this to save wall street, the democrats did this to help the irresponsible home owners. I am glad the responsible citizens screamed loud and clear to their congressmen. According to the Bloomberg radio this morning when I drove in, one congressmen said “The phone calls are running 50/50, 50 said No, 50 said Hell NO”. This Henry Paulson is really a corrupt official. He let Lehman go bankrupt, but as soon as he learned Goldman Sachs had 20 Billion exposure of AIG, he bailed AIG out with 70 Billion right away (Paulson was Goldman’s chairman before he became treasury secretory.) I don’t see any adverse effect on Lehman to be bankrupt, why not anyone else? It’s high time for people to face the consequences of their own actions. The market did not need a bailout, the market needs to know that the government is not going to save them and they have to solve their own problem. The Bush administration is trying to put a gun at tax payer’s head “You either do this or go to depression”. Well, a country can recover from a depression, even a great one, but it will take much longer if ever to recover from socialist banking. |
