If BAC fails, there will be huge international implications due to the derivatives. Remember BAC bought ML and Countrywide at worst time possible. But BAC is the only big bank in the US at present with most savings accounts and its traditional banking side will make money.
Where Citi is not a traditional bank anymore. Its leveraged to investment banking, derivatives trading etc. In case of failure, I don't think it will have that much impact overall as it declined quite a bit already. It has been saved for political reasons, huge stakes invested by Saudi royals in Citi.
Ika GM and Ford close ayithey US won't crumble. Unemployment rate peruguddi but some other companies will fill the void. people still need and keep buying cars albeit at lower pace. |

some info on pontiac
GM launched Pontiac in 1926 but its origins date from the 1890s to the Pontiac Buggy Co. of Pontiac, Mich., whose owner created the Oakland Motor Car Company in 1907.
GM acquired Oakland and later created Pontiac as a lower-priced Oakland to fill a gap between the entry-level Chevrolet and upscale Oldsmobile.
Pontiac sales took off but by 1932 its existence was under threat as GM reeled from the Depression. Yet it was Oakland that disappeared and Pontiac that survived by sharing components with other GM makes.
