New Delhi: In an on-line friendship that allegedly went wrong, a woman in Delhi has accused a male friend of raping her while on a date.
The un-named woman has alleged that Dushyant Verma, a resident of a posh south Delhi colony had invited her over for a lunch date after knowing each other in the chat rooms of Facebook, a social networking website.
She has alleged that the software engineer son of a successful and wealthy businessman had actually asked her out. But when they met in person, instead of going anyplace out, he insisted that they go to his house in the posh Maharani Bagh locality.
She alleges that once in his house, he packed off the servant to fetch food and raped the girl despite her protests.
The victim has reportedly stated in the first information report (FIR) that she was forced inside the accused man’s room for over 30 minutes on April 18, 2009.
She alleged that she came under duress as Dushyant allegedly even claimed he had filmed the incident and tried to threaten her.
The victim has also reportedly stated in the FIR that Dushyant insisted on dropping her back, to which she relented.
En route to her south Delhi home, she jumped out of the car at the Bikaji Cama Place red light.
The victim states that she could file a complaint with the police only after two days of the alleged rape incident having taken place.
The victim’s medical report has confirmed that she had been raped.
Investigating officials have reportedly discovered video clippings of several other women on Dushyant's laptop.
The police are now trying to see if he had targetted any other woman in the past.
