King of travel operators Kesineni Nani is facing a peculiar situation in this hour of economic meltdown. Only a few months ago, he had spent huge amounts for joining the Praja Rajyam Party, whether it is for donating a couple of crores to PRP fund or for taking out rallies and holding meetings in Vijayawada in support of PRP president Chiranjeevi. All that went in vain, as Nani was compelled to resign from the PRP, following differences with local Kapu leaders led by Vangaveeti Radha.
Having no other option, Nani has decided to join the Telugu Desam, which is his obvious choice because of his Kamma community. And here, too, Nani was forced to donate huge amounts to the Telugu Desam and come to Hyderabad in a big rally on Monday to join the TD. Yet, it is doubtful whether Nani would get any Assembly seat and if he does not, all his money will have to go down the drain!

Hyderabad: The simmering rebellion in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) threatens to split the party earlier than expected and even the trusted associates of its president K Chandrasekhar Rao, including senior leader A Chandrasekhar, MLC K Dilip Kumar and D Ravindra Naik, are likely to jump on to the bandwagon of a proposed new outfit.
This indication was available following a meeting at the New MLA Quarters in city held late on Tuesday night where 15 pro Telangana leaders, besides a sizeable number from the TRS, attended and favoured the proposal to float a new outfit to take forward the cause of a separate statehood.
The rebels are likely to meet again next week where balladeer Gaddar, TRS ideologues professor K Jayashankar and Kodandaram are likely to participate. Their opinion would be taken before the final plunge.
The proposed organisation would strive for consolidating all pro Telangana forces like Telangana Vidyavanthula Vedika, launch a movement for separate state and emerge as a formidable force by next elections.
According to sources, Telangana leaders who have quit the TRS and the Nava Telangana Party (NTP) Devender Goud, have already expressed their willingness to join them. The rebels feel that TRS has sacrificed the cause of a separate Telangana for narrow political gains and erred on strategy since 2004 when the movement reached a new peak. The 2009 election results have proved that the TRS lost its credibility and popularity among people. With the Congress staging a come back for second consecutive term, they feel that unless the struggle is revived, the issue may get a decent burial.
Even leaders like T Devender Goud and E Peddi Reddy who joined the PRP are also ready to take part in the struggle. Telangana leaders in other parties like Congress, TDP and PRP would also be invited to join the movement, they said.

There was a time when this building was bustling with activity and many felt that this would gain a significant place in the history of Andhra Pradesh. But right now, it is wearing a deserted look with not a fly around. We are talking about the noted Telangana Bhavan.
After the results in the bi-elections and the recent elections, it has become crystal clear that no one is interested in a separate Telangana state except the TRS party members in their greed for power. Now, as part of the elections, the candidates were not allowed to leave the Bhavan fearing that poaching of the members might happen.
Ironically, not only has the party took a severe beating in the polls but now the Telangana Bhavan expenses are said to have touched the sky. Thanks to the AC current bills, star hotel food, beer bottles, liquor for all candidates before counting, it is heard that KCR and his team are holding their heads trying to sort out the bills now.
