China imports lot of iron ore. China's steel production is 7 times that of India. I dont think they have enough ore to support their prduction. US is saving all their natural resources and letting others spend theirs. US started mining for manganese ore in virginia. Until then they were importing from UK.
It is not a bad idea to get a lease on any mine irrespective of price or export potential. Natural resources are becoming scarce and |

It is good to get into construction business after 6-7 months. After cement plants went for production expansion, they arent having enough demand now and prices for cement may go down to the tune of 185-190. Steel prices may go down further. CHina wants control over iron ore prices.
