Jagan meets Sonia, draws blank?
In a sudden development, Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy got an audience with AICC president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday morning and had a long discussion with her on the political developments in the state.
According to quick reports from Delhi, during the meeting, Jaganmohan Reddy spent most of the time in giving an explanation to Sonia about the campaign being run in the state demanding that he be made the chief minister. He told her that he had nothing to do with such a campaign, which was only spontaneous after his father’s death but not orchestrated.
Sources, however, said Sonia did not give any commitment to Jaganmohan Reddy on the chief minister post. She only told him to leave everything to her and she would take care of his political career. “I know everything about Andhra politics. Just leave it to me. I will take care of you,” she is learnt to have told him. Sonia later had a meeting with AICC incharge of AP affairs Veerappa Moily. According to information, Sonia might offer Jaganmohan Reddy the post of union minister of state for shipping with independent charge. It would be conveyed to him through Moily or Pranab Mukherjee later, sources said.
