For all practical purposes the curricular coursework/defense are generally exclusive of each other - completion of the defense culminates the degree and the optional "Walk" can be done anytime after. The date of Walk is genrally misunderstood as the date of graduation as it is convention/tradition to
"walk" immediately after graduating. You should have no problem at all - Singh
