As if the publicity through the media house “Sakshi” is not enough, YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is all set to get additional image building through a feature film.
Jagan’s staunch loyalist and real estate dealer Sriram is learnt to have decided to make a feature film based on Jagan’s real life story. Tentatively titled “Jagannayakudu,” the film depicts how a young leader revolts against the corrupt political system, braving conspiracies by rival political parties and attempts on his life and brings about a new revolution in the state politics and lives up to the promise given to his father, who lays down his life for the poor.
It is not known who is funding the film, but it definitely has the blessings of Jagan. The film is likely to go to the sets in a month or two, party sources said.
But one doubts whether such films will make any impact at the box office. Last year, an enthusiastic Congress leader T Satyanarayana Reddy alias Giri Reddy made a film – Bhagirathudu – based on life history of the former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Noted actor Vinod Kumar played the role of Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy while actress Yamuna played the role of YSR's wife Vijayalakshmi.
While Sri Harsha played the role of Jagan, his sister Sharmila's role was played by Hasini. There were nine songs in the film and prominent playback singers S P Balasubramanyam, Sankar Mahadevan, Sadhana Sargam and Manju rendered the songs.
