Our client, a top tier Investment bank is seeking a strong core Java Developer to help build out their counterparty risk platform. The role requires strong fundamental knowledge of derivatives, swaps or other front office products. This is an outstanding opportunity to work closely with front office teams and gain exposure to multiple asset classes.
The Counterparty Risk group is responsible for measuring counterparty exposure for the purpose of calculating credit reserve, risk hedges and credit transfer pricing; associated with potential loss of any given counterparty or group of counterparties.
The strategic application intended to support this group is a trading-level accurate calculation platform with the objective to automate deal pricing and booking processes and provide all OTC derivative Front Office Sales teams with a single dashboard which will provide CVA, WWR and RWA pricing together with CLU and deal clearance.
The position requires an exceptionally talented Java Developer. Ideal candidates will have experience in Agile enterprise systems delivery within a trading or risk IT environment. The application consists of a C#.Net client, Java mid-tier and Sybase RDBMS.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate strong server side Enterprise Java and test-driven development (TDD) skills
Contribute to the establishment and adoption of Agile oriented development processes, standards and best practices
Possess excellent problem solving skills
Be a strong collaborative team player
Re-design to support improved performance and scalability and to enable the on-boarding of new product types.
Requirements
Strong server-side enterprise Java and test-driven development (TDD) skills
Strong knowledge of relational database systems, Spring and Hibernate
Experience in Agile development methodologies and engineering best practices
Excellent communication skills
Exposure to multiple OTC derivative asset classes including Flow and Exotic Rates, FX, Currency, Equity, Credit and Commodity derivatives.
Java 6, TIBCO (Enterprise Messaging), JMS, Unix/Linux, Maven, Subversion (SVN)
Experience in trading applications, risk management, risk applications, fixed income and interest rate derivative products within the investment banking industry.
Enthusiastic self starter with a 'can-do' attitude and passion for delivery of high quality solutions
Strong client/business focus
Ability to handle multiple deadlines and associated pressures, to manage work independently and to be flexible within continually changing priorities
