Esscuseme:window.event.ctrlKey - does not work in all browsers
maadi intranet application - compatable with IE, so no issues.

you need to check window.event.keyCode = 17
17 is keycode for control and 16 is for shift |

mean while i got another solution, on each link i called a function, this function has a single line
window.location.href = link;
so ee statement valla same page lo link open avutundi, tester happy ee solution tho..
mee solution kkooda try chesta..

Bedar save below as HTML page and try it 2 times.
1) Comment the Return False and watch the behaviour
2) Uncomment the Return False and check it out ..
i can capture the events in both IE8 and Mozilla

inside onclick alert message is displayed for all clicks, except which i press ctrl key.
shift press chesinappudu kooda alert message vastundi.
I think ctrl press chesi mouse click cheste, adi onclick event la consider cheyyatam ledu..

I have a jsp page which will be included in all other pages. I have defined a js funcation as

click event lo alert message pettanu. normal click ki alert message display avutundi, but ctrl key press chesi click chestunte ee alert message kooda display avvakunda new window open avutundi..

application lo links vunnayi, like ikkada thread open cheyyataniki link vuntundi. thread meeda click chesinappudu by default same window lo open avutundi. ma application lo kooda same page lo open avutundi. But when you use ctrl or shift key pattukuni click cheste, kotha window lo aa link open avutundi. I dont want that. I want all the processing in the same window.

if that's the case, why can't you catch event using javascript
- for ctrl key and shift key - write a function for this which returns true or false
- for click event - write another function for this which returns true or false
if both above two functions return true then do nothing. hope this matches your requirement |

i dont want open a window on ctrl+ click or shift+click..
mainly i dont want to open 2 window of my application.

i think he wants the session to be opened but with the content from the link clicked, not the same content as the original session....
