Yes, that is correct. I am not sure you atill have that option to move over.. this is nothing but govt. wants money.. in this way they get tax money.. move only if you have had made decent earnings on your 401K. |

Aggi_pidugu:So your 100k will be 70k in ROTH IRA bcas it is after tax. If you have a ROTH IRA acct older then 5 yrs you can withdraw the money without penality.
So 401K to IRA to ROTH IRA(5yrs Old) cheste u can avoid that 10% penality
aa option last year ayyipoyndi anukunta.. it depends on your income level.. anyway when you are moving 401K to Roth you should pay the tax with current income (including your salary) that means your tax bracket could be high.. only adv. is you are moving after-tax money in lump sum so you have option to take that amount when needed.. also it is good only if you had already made good earnings in 401K..
Actually, the 401K adv. is you are putting pre-tax and you are making earnings on supposed to be taxed amount. Though you pay tax when with-drawing on your retirement the assumption is the income level will be low and hence will be paying lower tax. |

Any top financial institute lo account open chesi - you can have them manage your funds or you can tell them where to invest (10% on so and so stocks, 40% MFs, 40% metal trading etc ani). Your employer will also make a contribution (may not be equal to what you contribute - india lo equal amount contribute chesthaar).

Idi idea kadu annai this is the only loop hole to avoid penality. I opened my ROTH IRA in Jan to avoid that penality in Future. This works as per analysts.

Guys there is a loop hole to avoid penality
401K With your Employer
Open ROTH IRA with Zecco or some one else.
Once you leave your employer Move your Money to IRA(Before Tax).
From IRA you can move it to ROTH IRA(After Tax)
So your 100k will be 70k in ROTH IRA bcas it is after tax. If you have a ROTH IRA acct older then 5 yrs you can withdraw the money without penality.
So 401K to IRA to ROTH IRA(5yrs Old) cheste u can avoid that 10% penality

money is tax free for now. cannot withdraw until 65 years. early withdrawals leads to full tax payment+Penalty.
after 65 years kuda every year manam withdraw chese money ni w2 lo add chesi tax deduct chestadu.
ee 401k account meeda loan teeskovochu nominal interest tho..if we didnt repay within the duration they will by default count that money as withdrawn and tax+penalty add chestaru aa amount ki.

Job changes aithe options
1. Leave the money in the existing investment company.
2. Move the money to your new employer's 401k company.
3. Move the money to your preferred Rollover IRA account.
4. Draw the money by paying taxes and penalty.
