this has made me answer here after a long time
maan fed is the MAN
i have being following live tennis from 1988
but guy o guy i never seen a guy who plays tennis the way this man does. pure joy to watch
i mean com'on i do play tennis , and i guess i do know little of it playing day in day out for fun sake but never have being so inspirational made every shot in the book look so majestic and imperial.
there are so many great champions who played tennis for a living but this guy just makes it look so pleasing to the eye but in reality its just outta of this world.
ppl do win and lose when u play sports or for that matter anything but.....
i just feel like typing whole bunch of superlatives |

Roger Federer beats Rafael Nadal
6-3 6-0
Uncharacteristically wayward from Federer in those first two points - his first serve is closer to the baseline than the service line, but he still wins the point with a good wide second serve. Then a forehand balloons off his racket and into the ether to bring Nadal back to 15-15. But a whipped forehand down the line moves him back to 30-15, and then another clean winner gives him two match points. Federer's really charging through his routine now, serving almost before Nadal is ready, and certainly before the cameraman is ready. He comes to the net, Nadal throws up the backhand lob, and when it drops into the tramlines, Federer has completed a quite remarkable triumph.

Federer isn't letting up. He's moonwalking all over Nadal's dignity here. A crosscourt backhand return of sheer, sublime genius gets him to 15-40 and two break points. That was almost the most miraculous shot of the lot. You know how much spin Nadal puts on those serves. But Nadal manages to find the sideline with a forehand to save one break point. And when Federer nets a forehand down the line, it's deuce again. If Nadal could somehow wrestle himself onto the scoreboard here, well, tennis is a funny game like that. But Federer's depth of backhand is unmatchable once more, and Nadal's backhand is into the net to give Federer another break point. And after Federer teases, taunts, pummels Nadal around the court once more, he puts away an innocuous half-tracker with a dismissive backhand down the line to earn the triple break. I'm going to make quite a grandiose statement here. The Federer of these two sets would beat any other Federer you care to mention. This is genius. He will serve for the match.

Federer with a typically efficient one-two - testing first serve and an easy backhand winner - but he corkscrews a forehand wide to make it 15-15. Another wide serve from Federer and he dispatches the forehand winner, and a seventh ace sets up two match points... Nadal stabs a backhand wide and that's that - there was only one man on the court this evening, Federer's name writ large across the O2 Arena. |

Mistake on the backhand side from Federer, and there's Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric looking on, alongside former heavyweight champion of the world David Haye. Haye tapping away on his blower - what money Vitali? Outrageous backhand return from Federer and Nadal looks sick, two more break points. The Spaniard saves one with his first ace, which he looks almost surprised by, and Federer finds the net on the next point to take it to deuce. Apparently, that's his first unforced error on the forehand flank. Federer steals the advantage back courtesy of a fizzing backhand and wraps things up with a backhand down the middle. If Nadal was a fly on the bars of a fire, he's now been de-winged and about to be devoured...

Federer crowds the net and Nadal is unable to pass him. Next time he's not so lucky, only able to scoop a forehand volley long, but he makes it 30-15 with an arcing serve out wide. Another growling forehand from Federer leaves Nadal scrabbling at the back of the court and the Swiss crowns a tremendous set of tennis with a coruscating cross-court forehand pass. Have. Some. Of. That. Rafa.

Federer turns defence into attack to level things at 15-15 and - whisper this quietly - Nadal is being outhit at the moment. Beautifully crafted point from the world number four - return out wide before stroking a forehand winner down the other flank. There is a crispness to Federer's hitting at the moment - every shot like biting into a Granny Smith - that Nadal is largley unable to match... nothing wrong with that shot, though, a screaming forehand winner from the Spaniard that left his opponent rooted. Federer tugs a backhand wide and that's a good hold from Nadal.

Another seering forehand winner from Federer as he surges into a 40-0 lead and he makes sure of the hold with a forehand winner down the line. Federer flicked the switch, Nadal is being fried like a fly on the bars of an electric fire.

Nadal's first serve lacking in wheels at the moment and rather sitting up on this slowish surface and what a shot that is from Federer, opening the shoulders and thrashing a forehand winner across Nadal's bow. Nadal made to zig-zag all over the court by Federer, like a raindrop running down a window-pain, and the Swiss puts away the smash to create three break points. Crash, bang, wallop - what a rally! Both men raining haymakers from the back of the court and Nadal is the first to yield, tugging a backhand wide.

Testing serve from Federer, Nadal is only able to bunt it back and the Swiss steps in and puts away the winner. Ace from Federer before Nadal looks to pass him at the net and Federer is only able to frame his volley long. Federer goes long with a top-spin backhand but Nadal is only able to find the net with a backhand on the next point and Federer holds. No quarter asked, no quarter given...

Federer wins a baseline tussle before Nadal finds a big first serve to level. Nadal rather prods at a forehand volley, but Federer yanks his attempted backhand pass high and wide. Federer looking to step in on Nadal's second serve but his timing is off at the moment and that forehand sails long - another service hold.

Federer crunches a beefy forehand past Nadal before Nadal hits back with a ripper of a return to make it 30-15. Federer has a feel around in his top-drawer and pulls out a couple of hefty first serves to hold. Both men refusing to yield the centre of the ring, this has every sign of going all the way.

2011: Federer calls heads, it lands heads, and he's going to have a serve. It's more like a boxing match out there - the court illuminated, the crowd shrouded in darkness, tremendous stuff. One banner reads: "If tennis is a religion, then Roger Federer is its God." I guess that makes Novak Djokovic the leader of some kind of tennis Reformation.
